The time again is approaching where OSUNO members can get outside those hospital/clinic walls and give back to our community.

Holidays can be challenging to some of us for various reasons, but sometimes when we extend a helping hand to others and experience their gratitude, feel their hope….it does wonders for our own souls, uplifts our spirits, and provides a sense of peace for us all.

This morning OSUNO delivered letters to unit managers across the organization. OSUNO has been ready to return to the table to negotiate a fair IP program but all our nurses continue to get from leadership is gaslighting emails full of misinformation.

We know that closed beds impact throughput and cause long wait times in the ED which harms the patients we advocate for daily. We are incredibly disappointed in the decisions hospital leadership continue to make with regard to safe staffing and being HRO.

🚨 OSU FILED A ULP ATTEMPTING TO SILENCE US 🚨

Maybe OSU should spend its time, and patient-care dollars 💵💵, on STAFFING 🏥 instead of union-busting, intimidation 🚫, and trying to silence the nurses speaking up about unsafe conditions. 📣

And about that complaint… 👀

OSU says we “campaigned” on No Cuts. No Compromises.



🚨 CORRECTION: WE ARE CAMPAIGNING.

Present tense. Still going. Still fighting. ✊🔥 And we’re not stopping until this is resolved.



🚫 NO CUTS TO STAFFING.

🛡️ NO COMPROMISES ON PATIENT SAFETY.

Trying to silence the union instead of fixing the problems we’re exposing is a weak-ass move 🤡 — and wasting even more patient-care dollars doing it is shameful. 💸

If OSU has money for lawyers ⚖️, complaints 📄, intimidation, and union-busting tactics, OSU has money to safely staff this hospital. 🏥

We’re going to fight like hell 🔥✊ until they get the message.

CORRECTION 70 BEDS BLOCKED TODAY 🛏️ 🚫

🚨 52 blocked beds in the James Tower.

OSU talks constantly about being a High Reliability Organization — Zero Harm, every person, every time.

But HRO is just a slogan to management, when they say not this person, not this time. When they put greed first staff and patients pay the price—

🏥 Patients wait longer in the ER.
⏳ Surgeries can be delayed.
🩺 Care gets pushed back.
😡 Staff are left trying to absorb the fallout.

And this is the part management keeps avoiding:

Understaffing does not stay contained to one unit.

When there are not enough nurses and health professionals to safely staff beds, the pressure spreads across the entire hospital.

Patients feel it.
Staff feel it.
The whole system feels it.

You cannot preach Zero Harm while creating conditions that delay care and strain the entire system.

Based on management decisions, this is not every person, every time.

This is another cost of understaffing.

🚨 OSU says its standard is “Zero Harm. Every Person. Every Time.”

But when a nurse says, “I have a safety concern,” after repeated assaults and asks management to show up— they’re left on read.

👀 That is not HRO.
🛑 That is not psychological safety.
📣 And that sure as hell is not “speak up” culture.

You cannot preach safety while ignoring the people sounding the alarm.

You cannot tell staff everything is being done to support safe staffing while management actions tell a very different story.

According to those actions: not every person. Not every time.

🔥 We’re done with the gaslighting.
🔥 We’re done with the disconnect between the slogans and the reality.
🔥 And we’re done accepting unsafe conditions as normal.

NO CUTS. NO COMPROMISES.

OSU responded with a masterclass in gaslighting.

Apparently, if management puts it in a polished memo, nurses are supposed to forget what they’re actually living through.

At Harding, unsafe staffing and workplace violence go hand in hand and nurses are being expected to absorb the consequences.

❗️Short staffing. ❗️Unsafe workloads. ❗️Violence risk. ❗️Cancelled staff. ❗️Patients and nurses put in harm’s way.

We are done 🙅‍♀️🙅‍♂️accepting dangerous conditions as normal.

🚨OSUNO’s Response to the CNO’s email from this morning🚨

Let’s be clear the plan that OSU proposed was to place staffing at the sole discretion of senior leadership. Our nurses ❗️NEED ❗️to have an agreement that gives nurses ❗️ASSURANCE ❗️that incentive pay will be used when there is a staffing need ✍️IN WRITING! ✍️

Without a written signed agreement it just becomes empty promises. 🌟the BEST predictor of future behavior is past behavior!!! 🌟And lets face it, their track record speaks for itself.

We need a plan that ensures our patients receive safe, high-quality care.

🗣️Let’s tell OSU to come back to the table and put their promises in writing. 🚫NO cuts! 🚫NO compromises!
