OSUNO nurses!

Tomorrow is the Buckeye Country Superfest. For everyone who has worked on a weekend before when events are being held, they should be familiar with the chaos of reaching the Medical Center.

When planning your trip to work this weekend consider giving yourself extra time to arrive. Please reach out to your board member or anyone from the executive board if you have any issues entering the Medical Center or parking this weekend so we can escalate these concerns in real time.

Union president Patty Kane says the agreement will improve working conditions for nurses and ensure patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.

OSU announced the Merit Raises for this year yesterday afternoon. As a reminder for all OSUNO bargaining unit nurses your raises are tied to the pre negotiated rates in the back of the contract.

Nothing will change here for OSUNO this year. The language to reference here at the bottom mentions the aggregate 3%. If OSU were giving an aggregate higher than that the payscales would need adjusted.

As it stands nothing is changing from the rates in the contract. OSUNO has always advocated for raises across the board that impact everyone.

🚨 OSU has no problem enforcing attendance policies on the people delivering care, teaching students, and keeping the institution running.

But when a billionaire trustee reportedly no-shows for more than a year, the silence is deafening. 😶

Accountability shouldn’t be reserved for workers while the powerful get a pass. 👀

Children are the purest of heart….at a pivotal age of being shaped and molded. They are learning who they are and trying to understand their feelings, trying to manage and discover their environment.

The beautiful minds of these young souls are like sponges, devouring and absorbing so much around them. Some of these young ones are fortunate to be in a positive environment to grow, while others are at a disadvantage that may stifle their progress.

It is in these moments that OSUNO RNs had an opportunity to step away from bedside nursing to go out into the community to contribute to the nurturing and support of some amazing young children. We had another SUCCESSFUL outing passing out books to K thru 5 kiddos at Binns Elementary!!!! It was so humbling and rewarding to see the students excited about learning new things, unlocking new worlds, venturing off to new places, and feeding their minds through reading!!! Experiencing it all was pure nourishment and joy to our souls❣️

🎉 Congratulations to our 2026 OSUNO Scholarship winners!! These individuals were celebrated and recognized last week at our annual Nurses Day Event.

The Dorothy Cornelius scholarships were awarded to Abena Atwimah from the UH OR, Kasten Rini from UH SICU, and Caileigh Moore from 5 Ross for $2300 each. The Undergraduate Scholarships were awarded to Brooks Myers and Katelyn Souslin for $2000 each.
