🌄 138 hikers came and achieved something greater than reaching the summit today.

They chose health over excuses, community over isolation, and purpose over comfort. Every step up the mountain was a reminder that when people come together with a common goal, barriers begin to fall and possibilities begin to rise.

138 hikers. One trail. One culture. One mission.

Today wasn’t just about hiking it was about unity, wellness, fellowship, and proving that the outdoors belongs to all of us.

Black Hikers Unite continues to show that when we walk together, we grow stronger together.

❤️🖤💚 Juneteenth is more than a celebration. It’s a reminder of resilience, freedom, progress, and the generations who kept moving forward even when the path wasn’t easy. Today we honor those who came before us, celebrate how far we’ve come, and continue building community, wellness, and connection for those who come after us. ✊🏾🌿

That’s why this weekend we’re taking the celebration outside at our 2nd Annual Hike for the Culture at Stone Mountain. 🥾🌄 Freedom is movement. Freedom is community. Freedom is being able to gather, explore, heal, and grow together.

🌄🥾 THIS SUNDAY! Join us for the 2nd Annual Hike for the Culture at Stone Mountain! ✊🏾🧡 Meet up at 9:00 AM, hike starts at 10:00 AM. Bring water 💧, snacks 🍎, your friends 👯‍♀️, family ❤️, and good energy ✨. In honor of Men’s Health Month 💪🏾 and Father’s Day 👨🏾‍👧🏾, we’re getting outside, celebrating wellness, community, and culture before enjoying the rest of the day with loved ones. Happy Juneteenth from Black Hikers Unite

Today, we honor the ancestors who dreamed of a freedom they might never experience a freedom to walk without permission, gather without fear, learn without restriction, and exist with dignity.

There was a time when many Black people could not freely travel, enter certain parks, or safely explore the outdoors. Yet their resilience paved the way for every step we take today.

Every trail we hike is more than exercise; it is a celebration of liberation, wellness, community, and the unbreakable spirit of those who came before us.

When we lace up our boots, breathe fresh air, and stand together in nature, we honor a legacy of perseverance and remind the world that we belong everywhere the earth meets the sky.

May we continue to hike with purpose, unite with love, and leave footprints of freedom for the next generation.
