Happy Father’s Day to every dad, grandfather, uncle, mentor, and father figure who chooses to show up, who asks questions, sits through programs, helps with projects, and reminds a young person that they are worth the time.

Fatherhood and STEAM live on the same foundation. Curiosity. Patience. The belief that someone can figure it out if you stay beside them long enough. The moments you spend building and exploring together? Those become the moments they carry forever.

To the fathers who bring their children to See Brilliance, thank you for trusting us with your family. You inspire us every single time. And to every father who hasn’t come through yet, our doors are open. Come discover brilliance with us.

What if protecting the planet started in your own backyard, and what if a group of young people showed you how?

At our Pollinator Power Lab, students explored the incredible role bees and pollinators play in sustaining our food systems, supporting biodiversity, and keeping ecosystems alive. Through hands-on activities, they built bee hotels and made real connections between nature, science, engineering, and math.

The energy in the room was electric. These young people left not just with knowledge, but with the belief that their actions matter.

We're so grateful to The Bee Collective for partnering with us and helping our youth see that environmental change can start with small, powerful actions right here in our community. 🐝🌼 Having programs like this in our local Columbus Metropolitan Libraries makes a world of difference to our communities.

What happens when young people get to see the world beyond their neighborhood? They start to see themselves differently.

At our Code, Camera, Action experience with Spectrum News 1 Ohio, students went behind the scenes of a real working newsroom — learning about broadcasting, meteorology, and the incredible teamwork it takes to keep communities informed every day.

We were honored to have Columbus City Council Member Tiara Ross join us to speak directly with our youth, encouraging them to dream bigger and bolder about their futures. Thank you to our friends at Besa for the wonderful volunteers who made that experience effortless!

These moments matter. Exposure creates opportunity — and opportunity helps young people discover the brilliance that was always inside them.

🍴✨ Ever wondered why some foods make you say “WOW” and others… not so much?

Join us on June 13 at 10:30 AM for our Science of Tastebuds experience at Marzetti, where students will explore how flavor, texture, and chemistry work together to shape what we taste. From sweet to savory, youth will discover how tastebuds function and how science is behind every bite. 🧪👅

Activities may include sensory testing, creating dips or dressings, exploring food safety practices, and even bakery-inspired experiences!

Today, we celebrate three incredible members of our Discovery Team: William Dixon, Isaac Wilson, and Jaiden Stratton.

There is something deeply powerful about watching undergraduate students pour back into younger generations, showing them what’s possible through their presence, leadership, and example. Over their time with See Brilliance, we’ve not only watched them impact youth and families across our community, but we’ve also witnessed their own growth, confidence, and professional development blossom through the responsibility and purpose that comes with this work.

Because the Discovery Team has never just been about discovering brilliance in others, it’s also about discovering more within yourself.

We are proud of these graduates and grateful for the energy, care, and creativity they’ve brought to this mission. While they’ll still be with us for parts of the summer, we’re excited to see them step into their next adventures and experiences. The future is bright. 🌟

This summer, See Brilliance is stepping in to meet a critical need by providing evening STEAM programming during the hours when many youth still need a safe, creative, and engaging space to learn and grow. 💡🌍

From hands-on builds to art, science, gaming technology, and exploration, every night is a new experience designed to keep young minds active all summer long. These programs are perfect for families and even students coming from existing summer camps once their day ends.

Summer with See Brilliance is here! Register here: https://forms.gle/gAAToruK24tNz4dK6 From June 22 through August 14, we’ll be hosting exciting evening STEAM experiences packed with hands-on learning, creativity, and fun. Each week features a different theme, and every night brings a brand new activity, giving youth opportunities to explore, create, and stay connected all summer long. We are running programming starting at 4 pm to help fill the gap when kids may be getting out of camps and still need a safe space to go!

These experiences are designed to be engaging, meaningful, and flexible for families, so you can register à la carte based on the dates and activities that best fit your schedule. Spots are limited, so we encourage early registration and would love your help spreading the word so more youth can experience the power of STEAM this summer!

During our Science of the Glow STEMulating Saturday, the event shined brightly. Students explored fluorescence and phosphorescence, learning how energy excites electrons to produce visible light. From immediate glow to lingering afterglow, curiosity fueled each experiment. Check out the Egyptian-inspired artwork they created.

Our Zoo Day proved how much can happen when community, collaboration, and STEAM come together—hands-on learning, real-world discovery, and moments that turn curiosity into confidence.
