Kaleidoscope Youth Center (KYC) is Ohio's largest and longest-serving organization in Ohio solely dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ youth ages 12 - 24. Services include a Drop-in Center, community education and training, advocacy and civic engagement, health and wellness, and housing opportunities. KYC is informed by the practices of restorative and transformational justice, intersectionality, anti

Spend four weeks creating, exploring, making friends, going on field trips, and connecting with other LGBTQIA+ youth from across Central Ohio.

KYC's Summer Institute is a FREE summer program for youth ages 12-20, running July 14 through August 7 from 12 PM to 3 PM.

This week we are continuing to shape our space into a home built by and for our Qummunity🌈. As we prepare for continued transition and settling in, programming will be a little flexible but still centered on connection, care, and community.

Drop-in center will remain the same time each day from 3:30p-5p for youth ages 12-20. After drop-in, we will shift into extended programming for the week of June 16-19:

🕯️🏳️‍🌈Today, we remember the 49 lives lost and all those impacted by the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016.

We especially hold in our hearts the Black and Latino LGBTQ+ community members whose lives, stories, and presence were central to Pulse and continue to be honored and remembered.

Pulse was more than a nightclub. It was a space of connection, celebration, belonging, and chosen family. Its loss is still deeply felt across the LGBTQ+ community, particularly among those who have fought for and depended on spaces where they could simply exist as themselves.

At Kaleidoscope Youth Center, we honor this memory by continuing to build and protect spaces where LGBTQ+ young people feel safe, affirmed, and supported. Every young person deserves a place where they can belong without question and grow without fear. 🌈

As we remember those we lost, we also reaffirm our commitment to showing up for LGBTQ+ youth and ensuring that safe spaces are not rare, fragile, or conditional, but consistent and protected.

🌈 It takes a community to make Rainbow Run possible.

On June 28, hundreds of runners, walkers, families, and supporters will come together for The Annual Rainbow Run . We're looking for volunteers to help create a welcoming, affirming experience from start to finish.

Whether you're helping with registration, cheering participants on, guiding runners along the course, or assisting with event setup and breakdown, your time helps make this event possible.

Most importantly, your support helps create opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth to experience belonging, connection, and community.

We're looking for at least 20 volunteers to help with setup, registration, and takedown on June 20. Volunteer shifts run between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM.

We're excited to welcome youth ages 12 - 20 into our new space for a soft opening this week. Join us June 9 - 11 for drop-in programming from 3:30 - 6:30 PM.

Applications for KYC's free Summer Institute are now open, but spots are limited. Apply by June 19.

From July 14 - August 7, youth will spend four weeks building leadership skills, participating in creative projects, engaging in team-building activities, and connecting with other LGBTQIA+ youth.

Youth entering grades 7 - 12 and 2026 high school graduates are encouraged to apply. Lunch and bus passes are available.
