AHACO was proud to join Mayor Ginther for a discussion on the next phase of Zone In. This is a critical effort to bring our housing code into the 21st century and get Columbus back to a place where the rent is fair, homeownership is attainable, and people have a meaningful choice when shopping for their home. This process gets us another step closer.

& we look forward to joining the City's team again next Tuesday to talk about how affordable housing bonds will bring down prices further.

& we'll keep talking, and researching, and planning, and advocating until the whole region is back on the right track.

I sat down with some of our local housing experts Wednesday to talk about Zone In Phase 2. The focus is on unlocking the potential growth along our city’s mixed-use corridors, industrial and warehouse areas, and near business campuses, hospitals, universities, and other major job centers. If we do that, we can grow the number of new homes we’re projecting from 13,000 up to 119,000 over the next ten years. Columbus Department of Development

Last week, Congress sent the most significant piece of bipartisan legislation of President Trump’s second presidency and the largest housing affordability measure in a generation to the White House for his signature, though Trump is refusing to sign it.
