💡 Scholarship Spotlight 💡

Congratulations to Rayna, a graduating senior in Howard County and our second scholarship recipient in 2026!

Rayna is passionate about neuroscience and medicine and demonstrates her commitment to serving others as a volunteer medical technician with a local volunteer fire department and a member of the Young Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County.

The scholarship committee was inspired by Rayna’s dedication to supporting her community when it matters most. This summer, she will intern with Johns Hopkins Hospital before attending starting her college studies this fall.

Congratulations to Isha, a graduating senior in Howard County and one of this year's Changemakers Scholarship recipients!

A passionate advocate for public policy, reproductive justice, and educational equity, Isha has led efforts to expand access to free menstrual products in public buildings across the county. The Junior League of Howard County scholarship committee was inspired by her commitment to creating positive change in her community.

We wish her all the best as she begins her college journey in the fall. Congratulations, Isha!

🌹✨ What an inspiring afternoon at the Junior League of Howard County's Changemakers Awards Celebration! 🌹✨

The event this past weekend was a wonderful reflection of our League’s commitment to developing leaders and creating meaningful impact throughout our community.

We were proud to celebrate our two scholarship recipients, Isha Ande and Rayna Hasan, and recognize their outstanding achievements, leadership, and service. We were also honored to welcome remarks from Howard County Executive, Dr. Calvin Ball and inspired by the powerful keynote address from Erika Strauss Chavarria.

It was especially meaningful to have members from neighboring Junior Leagues join us in celebration and support.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and contributed to the success of this event. Your support helped make the afternoon both memorable and impactful. Together, we are investing in the next generation of changemakers and strengthening our community for years to come. ❤️
