NOW ON YOUTUBE: "Sustainable Financing for Home-Based Asthma Services: Snapshots of Innovation and Progress Across the Country," a webinar from Regional Asthma Management & Prevention (RAMP) and the National Center for Healthy Housing (NCHH), is now available on YouTube.

Watch it here: bit.ly/NCHHwbr2605

Description: Asthma home visiting is an evidence-based intervention proven to reduce healthcare costs and improve asthma outcomes. Despite robust evidence of their impact, however, programs historically have had to rely on unstable grant funding to provide services. But in recent years, that pattern has begun to shift, and we have seen progress in communities and states across the country in building systems for sustainable asthma home visiting services.

There are many pathways for achieving sustainable home-based asthma services. As such, progress can look different from one place to the next. This webinar will feature success stories from across the country, highlighting both state Medicaid policy advances and stories about local partnerships, and other innovations that create a groundswell for statewide change, all serving as models for new community action.

In this webinar, our speakers teach you how to...

· Understand what progress and pathways for building systems to expand and sustain access to home-based asthma services might look like.

· Identify one or more pathways that can lead toward sustainable home-based asthma services in your community or state.

· Access free technical assistance and tools to support efforts in your community or state.

Panelists:

· Lynley Siag, New York State Department of Health
· Peggy Gaddy, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services
· Eric Armbrecht, Saint Louis University
· Natalie Talis, Alexandria Health Department
· Molly Zemke, Wisconsin Department of Health Services
· Paula Holigan, New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services

GET PREPARED FOR LOCAL ACTION: The National Safe and Healthy Housing Coalition (NCHH is a member organization) hosts monthly calls for conversations about what’s going on, today, in the federal policy world and what it means for healthy housing.

The next call is this Thursday, June 11th, at 2 p.m. ET. The registration link is in the comments.

Anyone is welcome to attend! While this is an ongoing series, you don’t need to be able to attend every call to participate.

In addition to our regular federal policy updates, for this month, we'll prime participants to start thinking about how to engage policymakers in attending local healthy housing events during summer recess. This call will include a brief featured presentation from advocates at Lead-Free NJ, who will share their experiences and successes with in-district advocacy and a brainstorming session with participants.
