Since arriving at RM on November 14, 2024, Taylor has been on a meaningful journey of growth and transformation.

Recently, he stepped into a role in the kitchen as part of his vocational training, and it quickly became clear that this was a natural fit. Taylor approaches his responsibilities with intentionality and care, faithfully serving others and taking pride in his work. His approach to preparing meals reflects not just talent, but a heart to serve. With the support of Nathan, our Kitchen Manager, Taylor committed himself to studying for his ServSafe Certification, and we are proud to share that he successfully passed his exam a few weeks ago.

We celebrate this milestone with Taylor as he continues to grow, reminding us all that with God, “all things are possible.”

Imagine a neighborhood where children were afraid to play outside, gangs controlled the streets, and even a pizza delivery driver refused to enter because of the danger—ten years ago, that was Beatty Downs. Strengthened by the faithful dedication and hard work of volunteers, Beatty Downs has become a flourishing community. This year, churches, local businesses like Palmetto State Glass and McGuinn Homes, and students from Columbia International University have come alongside our staff and students—working shoulder to shoulder to restore and revitalize a community for God’s glory. Volunteer workdays play a critical role in advancing the mission through meaningful progress, while also fostering relationships among students, staff, and volunteers—connections that leave a lasting impact on everyone involved.

If you’d like to join the fun and fellowship, we have another volunteer date coming up on August 1st—we’d love to have you with us!
