There’s something powerful about being in a room full of women who are building, creating, leading, and making things happen.

I had the pleasure of being invited to the second installment of Working Women Wednesday, an opportunity to connect with other women, share space, and continue building community beyond our everyday routines.

One thing I’ve learned along my entrepreneurial journey is that networking isn’t always about what someone can do for you. Sometimes it’s about the conversations, the perspectives, and the connections you didn’t even know you needed.

It’s exciting to see spaces like this being created with the intention of growing into something even bigger.

Thank you for the invitation! Looking forward to seeing how Working Women Wednesday continues to evolve.

Here’s to more women creating rooms where we all have an opportunity to grow.

We were here. We lived this. This mattered.

Before our stories were written in textbooks, they were carried through generations. Through our ancestors. Through photographs. Through music. Through books. Through conversations. Through people who understood that our stories were worth preserving.

From African kingdoms and enslavement, to emancipation and Jim Crow. From the Harlem Renaissance and Civil Rights Movement, to hip-hop, Black entrepreneurship, education, family and community—our story has never stopped being written.

And neither has history.

History is happening right now.

The conversations we’re having today, the businesses we’re building, the lessons we’re learning, the communities we’re creating and the stories we’re brave enough to tell are becoming part of the record we leave behind.

That is why BrwnGrlz Collective exists.

We’re creating space for our community to tell our stories, in our own voices, while we’re still here to tell them.

As we prepare for Season 5 in 2027, we’re looking for more voices, more experiences and more stories worth preserving.

Your story may feel ordinary to you, but it could be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

If we don’t tell our stories, who will?

Sometimes the very thing you survived becomes the reason you speak up for someone else.

This month, we’re sitting down with Tina Torres, whose passion for advocacy is deeply personal. Growing up surrounded by abuse and unhealthy family dynamics gave Tina a firsthand understanding of how difficult it can be to recognize harmful patterns—especially when they’re all you’ve ever known.

Today, she chooses to tell her story so others can recognize those patterns, find their voice, and understand that a healthier way forward is possible.

Because telling our stories isn’t just about what happened to us. Sometimes, it’s about helping the next person realize what doesn’t have to keep happening to them.
