Filipino-American Association of Greater Columbia, SC (FAAGC) is an educational/cultural/charitable, all volunteer non-profit organization duly registered and incorporated in South Carolina since 1991

purposes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any
future federal tax code. Notwithstanding any other provision of these Articles, the Association shall not
carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on by a corporation exempt from Federal Income
Tax under such provisions of the Internal Revenue Code. The objectives of this non-profit incorporated Association shall be:
1) to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines through cultural and
educational presentations to the greater Columbia community;
2) to promote better relations between the Filipinos and the greater Columbia community through
involvement in charitable and humanitarian activities; and
3) to encourage the younger generation of Filipino-Americans to become productive members of the
community by providing scholarships when they become eligible. Membership is open to any individual or family interested in Philippine affairs, in promoting Filipino-American relations, and in pursuing our stated objectives. At Ronald McDonald House.

Serving meals and sharing kindness. ❤️

FAAGC volunteers came together to prepare and serve a comforting meal for families of critically ill children. Our menu included lumpia, chicken and pork adobo, pancit, rice, pandesal, and hot dogs with buns.

We hope the dinner we served brought a little comfort during a difficult time. ❤️

Belonging: The Art of Nelson Baldemor

What do we leave behind when we are gone, and what stories do our belongings tell in our absence?

After Nelson Baldemor passed away, his friend Maria kept some of his belongings—paintings, pictures of the Philippines, and other personal treasures—with the hope that someday they would find a meaningful purpose.

That opportunity came when Maria met Chiara. Together, they arranged to share and preserve Nelson’s belongings through a library display in October, in celebration of Filipino American History Month.

What Maria had carefully held on to became an opportunity for others to discover parts of Nelson’s life and appreciate the Philippine images and memories he left behind. Through this display, his belongings continue to tell a story, connecting his memory with a wider community.

We may not always know the future significance of the things we keep. Sometimes, it takes a caring friend, a new connection, and the right moment for those treasures to find their purpose.
