DAI People will lead. How they lead makes all the difference. DAI equips the servant leader in each of us. The world needs strong Christian leaders.

In our broken world, God plants local Christian leaders to bring the lasting hope of the gospel to their communities. These leaders face enormous challenges — like corruption, disease, persecution, poverty, war — and most find themselves ill-equipped to respond. Development Associates International (DAI) equips these leaders to respond by creating, using and distributing interactive educational to

ols that grow leaders' personal integrity, spiritual life, leadership effectiveness and management skills.

Many of you have probably heard about the devastating flash flood that struck the Nepal-Tibet border this Wednesday, claiming over 500 lives so far.

Through our network of local Christian leaders, DAI has a number of close partners in Nepal—including a Nepali Christian relief organization—who are executing relief responses: providing emergency food, safe water, medical care, shelter, and even conducting search and rescue missions.

If God has put Nepal on your heart, we have an opportunity to put your gifts in the hands of trusted local Nepali leaders who can quickly and expertly provide for families who've been devastated by this crisis.

You can give today at https://daintl.org/give/relief-work/

*DAI is not a relief organization. Yet the leaders we serve typically live in the places most often devastated by natural disasters, disease, and political violence. Your gifts enable DAI staff, alumni, and partners to provide food, medical care, and shelter for the most vulnerable in their communities—providing servant leadership when and where it's most needed.

Please pray with us for the people of Nepal, who earlier today experienced a devastating flash flood near the Tibet border.

The natural disaster, triggered by a landslide, has already claimed over a hundred lives. Hundreds more Nepali nationals and foreign tourists remain unaccounted for.

As this tragedy continues to unfold, pray earnestly for wise and strategic leadership to rescue those that still can be saved, comfort for those mourning loved ones, and provision for those whose homes and livelihoods were washed away.

We're grateful for DAI Bangladesh's partnership with their country's branch of the Salvation Army.

This summer, our Bangladesh team was invited back to facilitate Servant Leadership for a new batch of leaders.

We pray that this course will encourage, strengthen, and equip the Salvation Army team as they serve the people of Bangladesh.

Last month, the DAI Niger team hosted their third annual Young Leaders Camp, organized around DAI's Learning to Lead course.

Niger has the youngest population in the world (with a median age of 15.7 years), and with only 0.3% of the population Christian, equipping young leaders is a strategic priority.

One teenage participant named Sephora shared with us, "I am proud to have discovered who I am in Christ and my own leadership style. I feel reassured because I found something we aren't taught in church, and I am ready to assert myself and step into my role."

Amen! We pray that Sephora and all the other young leaders who attended would be empowered to apply what they learned in their homes, schools, and spheres of influence.

Two important thoughts for young leaders to consider—from DAI Chief Coordinator of Nonformal Programs Dr. Beth Birmingham.

We were overjoyed this past weekend to welcome Dr. Kendall Atkinson to DAI's service office in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA)!

Kendall is director of DAI's ministry center in Sri Lanka, a vibrant DAI office which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary.

Dr. Atkinson is pictured with Roman Popov, DAI's International Director/CEO.

We come to you with urgent needs from two of the places where DAI works.

In Colombia, our team is providing construction supplies to families whose homes have been severely damaged by Monday's earthquake. Since they live in marginal areas, these households will likely not receive aid from the government or anyone else.

Central Myanmar was also devastated this week by cataclysmic flooding. Dozens have lost their lives and thousands are displaced. Flooded fields have left farmers and their families stripped of their primary source of food and income.

In response, DAI Myanmar is providing emergency food kits; essential items like blankets, mosquito nets, and cooking utensils; and health care and hygiene supplies to those impacted by the flooding.

If God moves your heart to partner with our local teams, you can give to these efforts at
https://daintl.org/give/relief-work/.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you!

In just the last couple of weeks, DAI MAOL (Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership) students met around the world for their next master's residency.

Pictured here are
1) The new matriculating cohort from Igbaja, Nigeria,
2) Bangladeshi students being oriented to their Integrity & Finance course, and
3) A lively course discussion in Juba, South Sudan

We're so grateful to be able to offer our students an accredited, international program with faculty from around the world. Thank you to all of you who make this possible!

This morning, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, a mountainous region where DAI has concentrated much of its work in the country.

Many buildings have been reduced to rumble and nearly 50 people have already lost their lives, with that number sure to rise in the coming hours and days.

Please pray with us for Colombia—that leaders would be able to act quickly to save lives, and that God's comforting presence would be near those who have lost loved ones.

This summer, our organizational partner Apoyo Cuba facilitated DAI's Strategic Leadership course for 100 church-planting leaders in Bayamo, Cuba.

These church planters are organized by Familia Cristiana Church, pastored by a DAI master's graduate. We're grateful for the opportunity to partner with these passionate leaders furthering God's kingdom in their country!

Continue praying with us for Cuba in this time of incredible economic hardship.
