Kavita Joshi’s face lights up when she starts talking about fashion. “I can’t put it into words, but I just love it. I could spend all my time around clothes.”
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Designing and Merchandising, Kavita (pictured on the left) worked for a time in the corporate fashion sector. However, as her family grew, she had to put her passion on hold.
Then, during her Spiritual Formation course in DAI’s master’s program, Kavita heard God encouraging her to take back up the passion He had given her. “God said, ‘Give it to me and use it for my glory,’” she remembers.
What if she created a clothing company that employed marginalized, rescued, and displaced women? “I feel like I cannot keep the gospel and the social cause separate,” Kavita confesses. “Ultimately, the transformation that happened within me [when I met Christ] must lead to doing something for the welfare of society.”
Together with her husband, who enthusiastically supported her plan, Kavita registered her new company, InnoKriti. With the insights and skills she gained in DAI’s master’s program, she is developing her company’s strategic plan and searching for partners to collaborate with.
