Neighborhood University is a 12-week course, FREE for participants, that inspires residents of Colorado Springs and El Paso County to become more engaged citizens and effective community leaders. This program addresses civic disconnection, social isolation, and inaction on local issues by educating residents on how to engage with local government, build strong neighborhood relationships, and turn ideas into actionable solutions. We have witnessed the incredible power of connection as neighbors gather together over a shared meal, and we're looking for 73 more table hosts to continue the momentum. Hey Neighbor! Did you know that studies have shown that knowing as few as six neighbors reduces loneliness, creates friendships and fosters inclusivity, cultivates safety through cooperation and much more?!

Join us this Wednesday, June 17 from 3-9pm as we proudly host (formerly CONO) for Community Constellations. 10% of ALL in-cafe sales will be donated back to this neighborhood-focused, local non-profit that inspires neighbors to create vibrant communities. Hey Neighbor helps facilitate neighborhood gatherings and networking opportunities among neighbors and community leaders, and the funds raised at Community Constellations will help support their campaign to raise $1.5 million over the next 3 years to expand their reach and help inspire more neighbors to create vibrant communities!

Excited to speak at the ENGAGE! conference about the importance of knowing your neighbors!

🎤 Meet Our Keynote Speakers for ENGAGE! Learning More, Living Well!

This year's opening keynote will explore the theme: 👉 Connected, Capable, and Thriving — Aging Well in Colorado Springs. We're honored to welcome two inspiring community leaders whose work reflects the power of connection, purpose, and lifelong engagement.

Nancy Henjum, Colorado Springs City Councilmember, District 5, has dedicated her career to strengthening communities through leadership development, behavioral health, civic engagement, and public service. Through her work as a clinical therapist, executive coach, community volunteer, and elected leader, Nancy has spent decades helping individuals and organizations thrive.

Joining her is Kelly Bull, Executive Director of Hey Neighbor, a nonprofit dedicated to helping neighbors build meaningful relationships and stronger communities. Kelly's journey from designing sustainable landscapes to cultivating social connections has reinforced her belief that healthy communities are built when people come together, care for one another, and invest in the places they call home.

Together, Nancy and Kelly will kick off ENGAGE! with a conversation about what it means to remain connected, capable, and thriving as we age. Their message will highlight the importance of community, belonging, purpose, and the opportunities that exist for all of us to continue learning, contributing, and living well.
