Pikes Peak Community Foundation

Pikes Peak Community Foundation Over a 70-year period, the Trust quietly made millions of dollars of grants to non-profit organizations in our region.

Our mission is to inspire generosity, serve fundholders, and mobilize resources to effectively and equitably address the Pikes Peak Region’s critical issues and transformational opportunities, now and for generations to come. Pikes Peak Community Foundation evolved from the Colorado Springs Community Trust, founded in 1928 by visionary citizens who believed that the Pikes Peak region needed a way

to build a permanent charitable endowment to improve the quality of life in our community. However, because the Trust had been chartered as a private foundation, its board came to realize that our community needed a true community foundation to make a lasting positive impact on our community. Pikes Peak Community Foundation was created in 1996 to take a leadership role in promoting philanthropy. Since that time, PPCF has generated over $100 million for a wide range of charitable purposes and reinvested in community projects and grants to nonprofit organizations. We envision a thriving, resilient, sustainable community with a vibrant quality of life for all.

A big thank you to our expert panel and those who attended today's thoughtful conversation on the outdoors in the Pikes Peak Region as part of our Our Spacious Skies work.

This panel explored how access to land, open space, and outdoor experiences shapes quality of life, well-being, and long-term stewardship in our region. The discussion reinforced just how much people value these places and the importance of being intentional and collaborative as we plan for the future.

Thank you to our outstanding panelists for sharing their insight and leadership:
Stephen Harris, Becky Leinweber, and Jan Martin.

These conversations help inform how we think about multi-generational, community-centered solutions, and we look forward to continuing the work together.

We love seeing our grants at work across the region.

Thanks to a grant from Pikes Peak Community Foundation, Flying Pig Farm in Manitou Springs is updating their yurt, creating a more welcoming space for learning, gathering, and connection.

Flying Pig Farm cultivates resilient relationships with food and natural systems through land-based learning, welcoming students and community members to explore nutrition, ecology, and stewardship on their historic Manitou Springs farm.

As this project comes together, PPCF is also preparing for this year’s grant cycles. We look forward to supporting more organizations doing important work throughout the Pikes Peak Region.

We loved celebrating community impact at our recent Grant Awards Ceremony at The Carter Payne.

It was an honor to recognize this year’s grant recipients and to gather with nonprofit partners, board trustees, donors, and community leaders who make this work possible. Together, we are supporting meaningful work across the Pikes Peak region.

Photos from the event are now available here: https://www.ppcf.org/grantmaking

Thank you to Stellar Propeller Studio for beautifully capturing this wonderful community celebration!

We were honored to host our friends from the Front Porch Giving Circle at the PPCF offices last night. Founded in 2005, this inspiring group of women comes together to pool charitable gifts — pledging $1 a day, $365 a year — to fund projects that improve the quality of life in their community.

We’re proud to steward their philanthropy through their giving circle at Pikes Peak Community Foundation. Thank you, ladies, for all you do to uplift our region!
