Maynard Morris served in the Navy from 71-82 as a ships serviceman. He completed a Mediterranean Cruise and is a proud VFW member.

Our last stop before DC was Martinsburg WV where I had four quilts left. Grover assisted me in selecting worthy recipients. Meet Richard Byrd, a 20 year navy veteran who served in Korea and Vietnam.

Latest updates bring heartwarming news about our very own Colfax veteran Don Kiellmer joining the Veterans Awareness Ride! We also had the privilege of visiting Clarksburg WV, where we had the honor of meeting three remarkable veterans. Jim Kidd proudly served in the army from 63-66, notably driving the sergeant major’s jeep. Jerry Cumberland courageously served in the army, completing one tour in Vietnam from 61-63. Harry Kight selflessly spent 1970 in Vietnam while serving in the army.

Today, we had the opportunity to connect with Robert Chaffin in Chillicothe, Ohio, who courageously served 3 years in Vietnam during his time in the army, and we also learned about Gene Wolford's remarkable experience serving in Vietnam in 1969 as part of the army.

Inspiring news from our very own Veteran Don with the Veterans Awareness Ride! Yesterday, we had the privilege of visiting the Indiana veterans home in West Lafayette, where we had the honor of meeting the remarkable Mr. & Mrs. Lambert. Don bravely served in the marines from 1958-1968 and continued his service in the army from 1971-1976, completing three tours in Vietnam, and also serving in Alaska and Fort Knox. Throughout his distinguished military career and well into retirement, Georgina stood steadfastly by his side, offering unwavering support. Both now call this home their haven.

This Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th, let us unite at the Colfax Cemetery to pay tribute to the extraordinary sacrifices and honor the enduring legacies of our brave Veterans.
