We’re Officially Open!

After months of hard work preparing our new office space, we’re excited to announce that Care Sphere is now open and ready to serve!

The dust has settled, the walls are filling with purpose, and our programs are ready to welcome caregivers and families who provide care for adults with profound autism. Please visit our website for more information @ caresphere.org. We do have a retail shop which includes many nifty items, all new and all tax free. Along with grants, this does help fund our programs, so please come see what we have in stock.

Located in the heart of Historic Colfax, we’re now working on outreach to provide support, workshops, and a safe space to build strength and community — together. Be sure to watch for our events, which are our fundraisers designed to create public awareness and community support.

If you’re a caregiver of an adult with autism — or know someone nearby who is — please reach out or stop by. We can’t wait to meet you. Please let us know if you are interested volunteer opportunities, as we do have them and will be posting them soon.

We are currently serving families in and around Placer County with a goal of covering all of California, as soon as our resources allow.

Our 1st annual Gingerbread House Contest was a wonderful success. Our main objective was to participate in the Colfax's Winterfest event and have an opportunity to connect with community members. Hitting the pause button on our new location's tenant improvements over the past two weeks and focusing on such a fun event was worthwhile!

Our gingerbread house contestants ALL did an amazing job! We'll leave their work in the window at 34 N. Main St through Christmas.

Prizewinners are as follows:
13 and Under category
1st Place - Legend Jenson
2nd Place - a tie Kathryn Faletti and Ethan McCully
3rd Place - Emily McCully
14 and Over category
1st Place - Chase Glenn
2nd Place - Amy and Matthew Turner
3rd Place - Caroline McCully

Worth noting:
The tie for 2nd place in the young'n category means that both Kathryn and Ethan will both receive prizes.
Tiger McCully fell just short of the prize pool for the fundraiser portion of the campaign, however, this enterprising lad channeled his power of persuasion and rustled every human milling about on Main St., leading them to the contest where he encouraged them to vote for the People's Choice award. While I never heard him once ask for them to vote on his house, it is not surprising to note that he somehow amassed 43 votes for his own gingerbread house creation! He will be honored with his own choice of prizes as the People's Choice winner.
A very heartfelt thank you to a very hardworking Colfax Councilwoman, Caroline McCully . Without her efforts, we would have only had the interest but not the bandwidth to make the event happen.

Thank you to all that participated in the contest and to everyone that visited and shared their time with us.
