CDAIDE CDAIDE is a local non-profit dedicated to serving one of the most needy groups in our community; those working in the hospitality industry.

Our goal is to build a community-wide organization of individuals and entities, whether secular or faith-based, to provide support through interactive relationships with those working in our restaurants, fast food places, and hotels and motels. We aim to be in relationships with community organizations, individuals, and hospitality workers.​

CDAIDE is a resource and partner in meeting needs of in

dividuals who serve, but who also need to be served. Our support could include mentoring, financial support, as well as referrals to medical/dental care, counseling, or other community services as determined are needed. While First Presbyterian Church took the lead in creating CDAIDE our next step is to reach out to community partners so that a community-wide outreach will be possible.

At the Chef Challenge, you don't just sit back and watch the competition. You get a vote.

Six talented local chefs will bring their best as they compete for the Chef Challenge crown—and throughout the evening, you'll taste their creations and help decide who comes out on top.

That's one of our favorite things about this event. You're not simply coming for dinner. You're part of the action.

She needed a little help getting back on her feet. What she did next is one of our favorite parts of her story. ❤️

When one local hospitality worker found herself struggling financially, she needed a little help getting her head above water. CDAIDE was able to step in.

It wasn't a magic fix. It didn't make every challenge disappear. But it gave her some breathing room.

Soon afterward, she took on a second job and told us she was finally in a position to make a full financial recovery without taking on even more debt.

And then she did something that really stayed with us.

While getting back on her own feet, she purchased children's winter clothing from a local thrift store and donated it to a church to help another family in need.

She had just received help. And already, she was looking for a way to help someone else.

That's community.

Sometimes a little support at the right moment does more than pay a bill. It gives someone room to recover. Room to move forward. And sometimes, room to turn around and extend a hand to the next person who needs one.

The chef whose name is on the menu.

The server who remembers your favorite drink.

The dishwasher still working long after the dining room empties.

The housekeeper preparing a room for someone they'll never meet.

The line cook pushing through a busy Saturday night.

The barista who knows your order before you say it.

Hospitality is a people business.

And every one of those people has a life beyond the place where we see them.

A Chef Challenge ticket buys you a wonderful evening. But it can mean something much bigger to someone you've never met.

For a hospitality worker facing an unexpected crisis, support from CDAide can mean keeping the rent current while recovering from an illness. Getting a car repaired so they can keep getting to work. Taking care of an urgent medical or dental need without having to choose which other bill won't get paid.

That's why the Chef Challenge is more than a meal.

There are moments in life when asking for help feels overwhelming.

For one local hospitality worker, an unexpected medical emergency meant weeks away from work. Bills quickly piled up, and the uncertainty became almost as difficult as the recovery itself.

After being referred to CDAIDE, they received support that helped them stay on their feet while focusing on healing—not just financially, but emotionally.

Later, they shared something that has stayed with us:

"I never felt pitied or put down, just supported with kindness and respect."

That sentence captures the heart of CDAide. Our mission isn't simply to provide financial assistance. It's to remind people that needing help doesn't diminish their worth.

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity.

Every person deserves compassion.

Every person deserves to know they're not alone.

You're helping ensure that when a local hospitality worker faces an unexpected hardship, they don't have to face it alone.

Your ticket helps support people who spend every day serving others—servers, bartenders, cooks, hotel staff, baristas, and countless others who help make Coeur d'Alene such a welcoming place to live and visit.

In the 2026 Community Grants Program, Innovia awarded a grant of $15,000 to support CDAIDE's Care Program!

Since CDAIDE launched in 2021, the Care Program has supported more than 300 hospitality workers facing crises or disasters each year across Kootenai County. Financial assistance from CDAIDE temporarily covers costs such as rent, utility payments, or car repairs to help individuals and families maintain stability while facing health emergencies or other unexpected expenses.

Hope that the next shift will be a good one.
Hope that hard work will lead somewhere.
Hope that when life suddenly doesn't go according to plan, there will be a way forward.

For hospitality workers, an unexpected expense can become overwhelming quickly. An illness, an accident, a car repair, or time away from work doesn't just interrupt life—it can put rent, utilities, transportation, and other essentials at risk.

That's where CDAIDE steps in.

Sometimes the help we provide is financial.
Sometimes it's connecting someone with the right resources.

CDAIDE is growing our Board of Directors, and we’re looking for people who believe in our mission of Serving Those Who Serve.

You don't need previous board experience.

You don't need to work in hospitality.

What we’re looking for are people who care deeply about Coeur d’Alene and our neighboring communities, believe in supporting the people who make our hospitality industry special, and are willing to bring their time, perspective, ideas, and heart to the table.

Maybe you have ties to the hospitality industry.

Maybe you're connected to our local business community.

Maybe you've been looking for a meaningful way to give back.

Or maybe you simply believe that the people who spend their careers serving others deserve a community standing behind them.
