📣 Special Friday Hours – July 17

Due to our unexpected closure on Wednesday, July 15, the Anderson County Community Aid Coalition will be open on Friday, July 17, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM for anyone who was unable to visit us during our regular hours.

Thanks to an incredibly generous donation, we have an abundance of food available and look forward to serving our clients.

If you planned to come on Wednesday but were unable to because of the closure, we hope you’ll stop by Friday. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to safely receive and organize this wonderful donation.

We look forward to seeing you Friday!

📣 Temporary Closure Today

Due to an unexpected and incredibly generous donation of food, the Anderson County Community Aid Coalition will be closed today so our staff and volunteers can safely receive, sort, and stock this amazing gift.

The volume of this donation is so large that attempting to process it while serving clients would create safety hazards for both our clients and our team. Every available staff member and volunteer is working hard to get everything organized so these resources can be distributed to our community as quickly as possible.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. This temporary closure will allow us to better serve even more families in the days ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to Second Harvest who made this incredible donation possible. Your generosity will make a real difference in the lives of so many in Anderson County. ❤️

A Personal Note from the Executive Director

To our clients, volunteers, donors, and community,

I want to personally apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced by our changing hours of operation over the past several weeks.

I understand that consistency is important, and I know it can be frustrating to arrive at the agency and find that we’ve closed earlier than expected. For those who have experienced that, I am truly sorry.

Please know that these decisions were never made because we didn’t want to serve our community. They were made because I have been working every day to find ways to reduce operating costs while preserving—and whenever possible, increasing—the services we provide to Anderson County families.

When there are no clients waiting and little to no afternoon traffic, I have chosen to close early rather than continue paying overhead and staffing costs that could instead be used to purchase food, household necessities, and other resources for the families who depend on us. Every dollar we save is a dollar that can be redirected back into serving our community.

I realize that this approach has not worked well for everyone, and I appreciate those who have shared their concerns. Your feedback matters to me, and it helps us evaluate how we can better balance accessibility with responsible stewardship of the limited resources entrusted to our agency.

Please know that every decision we make is guided by one question: How can we help the greatest number of people with the resources we have?

If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, I would genuinely appreciate hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected].

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for allowing us the privilege of serving this community.

With gratitude,

Tammy Crowe
Executive Director

📣 Updated Hours of Operation & Office Changes

To better serve our community while making the best use of our limited resources, the Anderson County Community Aid Coalition (ACCAC) is updating our hours of operation.

Beginning Monday, June 22nd:

🕦 Monday – Thursday: Open at 11:30 AM
🕐 We are guaranteed to remain open until at least 1:00 PM.
🕒 After 1:00 PM, closing time will vary (up to 3:00 PM) based on client traffic and daily demand.
❌ Closed Fridays

Because our client volume can vary significantly from day to day, we may close early once all clients have been served and there is no additional demand. This allows us to be good stewards of the donations and funding entrusted to our organization while continuing to provide assistance to as many families as possible.

If you plan to visit after 1:00 PM, we encourage you to stop by earlier in the day whenever possible, as our afternoon hours will depend on client demand.

📞 Office Phone Update

As part of our continued effort to stretch every donated dollar as far as possible, we have made the decision to discontinue our office phone service. This change will save the agency approximately $250 each month. Rather than spending those funds on phone service, we believe they are better invested directly into the programs and services that benefit the families we serve.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue making thoughtful decisions that allow us to put our clients first while being responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to our agency.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us serve our neighbors throughout Anderson County. ❤️

🇺🇸 Holiday Closure Notice 🇺🇸

The Anderson County Community Aid Coalition (ACCAC) will be closed on Friday, June 19th, in observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day.

Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and serves as a time to reflect on our nation’s history and celebrate freedom and equality for all.

📢 CLOTHING DONATION UPDATE 📢

Due to an overwhelming outpouring of clothing donations and our very limited storage space, we will need to temporarily pause accepting clothing donations for the season.

If you would still like to donate clothing in honor of the Anderson County Community Aid Coalition (ACCAC), we encourage you to take your items to any local KARM store and simply let them know you are donating in honor of ACCAC. Through KARM’s generous partnership, they pay it forward by providing gift cards that our clients can use to purchase household essentials and other needed items.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community and appreciate your understanding as we work to make the best use of our available space. We will be sure to let everyone know when we are able to resume accepting clothing donations.

Thank you for always helping us help our neighbors. ❤️
