Appalachian Arts Craft Center is looking for talented artists and makers interested in joining us as vendors for our fall Makers Market, on October 10th, and sharing their work with our community.

Whether you create pottery, woodworking, fiber art, jewelry, glass, painting, mixed media, or something else completely your own, we’d love to hear from you!

🌳 He sees a fallen tree. He sees possibility.

For John Polly, woodworking often begins with a tree someone else is ready to haul away. He takes it home, mills it, dries it and waits to see what the wood reveals.

A beautiful grain. An unexpected knot. A detail worth highlighting.

John doesn’t force the wood to become something. He lets it help decide.

We recently kicked off a second round of collage classes at Meadow View Assisted Living and our participants are enjoying fresh projects, including making journal covers! Instructor Liza Jane has encouraged participants to "think beyond the square" as they imagine the many shapes and forms a collage can take.

❤️ What an afternoon. What a community.

We are still smiling after an incredible Community Luncheon, and looking through these photos reminds us just how special the day truly was.

Andi Marie Tillman was everything we hoped for and more. She had the room laughing throughout her performance, but what happened afterward spoke just as much to the kind of person she is. Andi graciously stayed late as a long line of fans waited to meet her, take photos, and share a few moments together. We are so grateful to her for sharing not only her incredible talent, but also her time and genuine warmth with our community.

From a packed room and lots of laughter to a successful silent auction and an incredibly fun live auction, the entire afternoon was filled with energy, generosity, and a shared love for the arts.

Most of all, we walked away feeling incredibly grateful for you. To everyone who attended, sponsored, donated artwork, bid in the auctions, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, or simply continues to cheer on the Appalachian Arts Craft Center, thank you. The love and support we felt in that room was overwhelming in the very best way.

AACC exists to celebrate artists, preserve and share Appalachian craft traditions, and create opportunities for people to experience the joy of making and art. Seeing nearly 300 members of our community come together in support of that mission meant more than we can say.

🎨 Homeschool Parents: Give Their Creativity Room to Grow!

Learning doesn’t have to happen only at a desk. At the Appalachian Arts Craft Center Homeschool Club, students get the chance to learn with their hands, explore their creativity, build real artistic skills, and connect with other homeschool students.

Sharon Wilcox fell in love with beadwork after taking just one class more than two decades ago. Today, she’s the one helping others discover just how rewarding this intricate craft can be.

Every Wednesday at the Appalachian Arts Craft Center, Sharon shares the techniques, tips and tricks she has learned through years of creating thousands of beautiful pieces.

Her hands-on approach makes the group a welcoming place to learn, whether you’re building your skills or ready to tackle a more challenging pattern. Sharon brings projects ranging from easy to intricate and offers plenty of individual guidance along the way.
