We are delighted to announce the grand opening of Martha's Nature Trail, which took place yesterday. The event was a tremendous success, with many attendees joining in the celebration. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Major Martha Friedmeyer for her generous donation of the land. Her dedication to Antioch Park is unparalleled. Additionally, we express our appreciation to the Missouri Department of Conservation for their partnership and support through the matching grant, as well as their guidance in developing the gardens and path. The trail features rain gardens, butterfly gardens, and a quarter-mile ADA-compliant path that meanders through the pecan grove, complete with benches. Overall, the entire path stretches just over a mile in length.

The Parks Beautification project was designed by Tim and Irene Komer, with funding provided by the Tony Komer Foundation and the Truman Lake Community Foundation. Throughout the spring and summer, Tim and Irene have dedicated their efforts to enhancing the areas surrounding our park signs. Their extensive work in soil preparation, flower planting, watering, w**d removal, and sign revitalization has truly paid off. The Clinton Parks and Recreation Department wishes to extend our gratitude and appreciation to Tim and Irene for undertaking this project and creating beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy.
