Package pickup day at Operation Watchcap!

This morning's crew consists of coffee, a porch, a patriotic view, and one very dedicated quality-control supervisor. ๐Ÿพ

We're sending another shipment of handmade watch caps to a special group of veterans in Dayton, Tennessee.

Every package carries more than hats; it carries gratitude, respect, and a reminder that their service is remembered.

๐ŸŽ‰ HALFWAY THERE! ๐ŸŽ‰

Operation Watchcap has officially reached a major milestone:

๐Ÿงข 512 handmade watch caps completed!
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 512 veterans one step closer to receiving a warm reminder that their service is remembered.

When we launched our goal of providing 1,000 handmade caps to veterans, we knew it would take dedication, patience, and a community willing to serve others. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers, supporters, and everyone who has encouraged this mission, we have now crossed the halfway mark.

Every cap represents more than yarn and stitches. It represents gratitude. It represents service. It represents a community coming together to honor those who once stood watch for us.

We still have 488 caps to go, but today we're taking a moment to celebrate how far we've come.

Thank you to everyone who has helped make this possible. Whether you've knitted, crocheted, donated supplies, shared our posts, offered encouragement, or prayed for our missionโ€”you are part of this accomplishment.

Together, we're proving that small acts of service can make a big difference.

Today, we stopped at the Lee Highway memorial where the July 16, 2015 attack began.

The flag flying there had become badly weathered. This was not a ceremony, and it was not done for attention. It was simply a quiet act of honor.

Five service members gave their lives that day protecting others:

Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan
Staff Sgt. David Wyatt
Sgt. Carson Holmquist
Lance Cpl. Squire โ€œSkipโ€ Wells
Petty Officer Randall Smith

Memorials matter because memory matters. And sometimes remembrance looks like stopping, noticing, and doing what should be done.

To the Fallen Five, their families, the wounded, the first responders, and the Chattanooga community still marked by that day: we remember.

May the places that hold their memory always be treated with dignity, respect, and care.

Covering those who covered us.
