WE DID IT! 🇺🇸❤️

Our goal for this year was 1,000 handmade watch caps for veterans.

And today, we are incredibly proud to announce that we have REACHED AND EXCEEDED our goal! 🎉🧶

But here's the best part…

WE'RE NOT STOPPING.

Our Watch Keepers are already stitching the next 1,000 hats—because reaching our goal didn't end the mission. It opened the door to even more opportunities to serve more veterans.

This milestone belongs to every person who picked up a hook or needles, donated yarn, sponsored a hat, shared a post, opened a door, or simply believed in what Operation Watchcap is doing.

Every stitch matters. Every hat matters. Every veteran matters. 🇺🇸

Meet Our Newest Watch Keepers! 🇺🇸🧶

We recently had the opportunity to share the Operation Watchcap mission with a local retirement center, and we couldn't be happier with what happened next!

A brand-new Covering Circle at the Plaza was formed! 🎉

Meet our newest crew of Watch Keepers, who have already been busy creating the most beautiful watch caps for veterans.

What started as a conversation about serving those who served has turned into a group of talented stitchers putting their hands, hearts, and creativity to work.

We love watching the Operation Watchcap family grow, and we especially love seeing that our mission can inspire people of every age to find their own way to serve.

🎉 864 CAPS MADE — 86.4% OF THE WAY TO OUR GOAL! 🎉

Operation Watchcap is closing in on our goal of providing 1,000 handmade watch caps to veterans in 2026. With 864 caps completed, only 136 caps remain!

Every cap represents hours of work, generous hands, and a simple but meaningful message to a veteran: You are remembered. Your service matters.

To our volunteers, donors, supporters, and everyone who has shared our mission—thank you. This progress belongs to all of you. Your encouragement and commitment continue to move Operation Watchcap forward, one stitch and one cap at a time.

Supporting those who have served is at the heart of everything we do. ❤️🇺🇸

Today, our youngest Operation Watchcap team member had the honor of delivering 50 handmade watch caps to the new VA Oncology Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

These hats are more than just yarn, they're a reminder that our veterans are loved, remembered, and supported as they face the challenges of cancer treatment. We hope each cap brings a little warmth, comfort, and encouragement to the veteran who receives it.

A special thank you to everyone who knit, crocheted, donated yarn, and supported this effort. Because of your generosity, we're able to wrap our nation's heroes in both warmth and gratitude.

To the veterans receiving care at the new Chattanooga VA Oncology Center: we're praying for your strength, healing, and hope. Thank you for your service. ❤️🇺🇸🙏

Operation Watchcap is excited to announce a community design challenge, and we want YOUR help!

We're looking for creative supporters, volunteers, veterans, family members, and friends to help design our first official Operation Watchcap volunteer and outreach shirt.

Our mission is simple:

Now we need a shirt that tells that story.

📌 Design Guidelines:
✅ Include the official Operation Watchcap logo (attached)
✅ Reflect our mission of serving America's veterans
✅ Front, back, or full-shirt designs are welcome
✅ Original artwork only
✅ Hand-drawn sketches are welcome—we can help turn great ideas into finished designs!

**A tank mechanic. A lightning strike. A lifetime of lessons.**

Operation Watchcap is honored to share the newest episode of **Voices of Valor**, featuring **Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran Larry Underwood**.

While stationed in **Kitzingen, West Germany**, Larry served as a tank mechanic maintaining M60 tanks, M88 recovery vehicles, and other military equipment during a pivotal period in history. He recalls the camaraderie of Army life, demanding maintenance missions, and the unforgettable day lightning struck the boom of an M88 while he and a fellow soldier were changing a sprocket.

Larry's story is a reminder that every veteran's service matters and every story deserves to be preserved.
