A heartfelt thank you from the Pakayev Family ❤️

Recently, we received this beautiful message from Anya, Alexander, Klim, and Lila — a family who made aliyah less than two years ago:

“Every time we receive one of your packages, it brings us great joy. Everything you provide is useful and appreciated by our family. Your kindness, care, and support mean so much to us, and we truly feel that we are not alone.”

They also shared how much the clothing and other items have helped their family, including diapers for their daughter that were especially needed.

This is why MTI exists — to remind new immigrants, families in need, and vulnerable communities across Israel that they are seen, loved, and not alone.

Ernest moved to Israel from Russia in 2024.

Recently, his health suddenly deteriorated, leaving him in a very difficult financial situation. Ernest has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and because of his condition, he is currently unable to work full time.

His illness is accompanied by frequent episodes of vision loss. After each episode, he faces disorientation, severe weakness, and depressive symptoms. At this stage of treatment, his medications have not yet allowed him to reach remission, making stable employment impossible.

Ernest has applied for disability benefits, but the approval process takes time. In the meantime, he continues to face fixed monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, and basic living needs — with income that is not enough to cover them.

He reached out to our support center hoping for help during this painful and uncertain season.

This week, we set aside time to serve people who were unable to attend our regular monthly distribution in Ashdod — whether because of work, family responsibilities, or health challenges.

Instead of waiting for them to come to us, we went to them personally, delivering assistance directly to their homes and spending time with each family.

Sometimes, a few minutes of personal connection can mean just as much as the help itself.

As families across Israel prepared for Shavuot this past week, we had the privilege of distributing food packages to immigrant and refugee families in Petah Tikva, Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Bat Yam, and Ariel.

Because of your generosity, families facing financial hardship received practical support during a season when many were worried about how they would provide for the holiday.

But this outreach was about more than food.

It was about the conversations we shared, the personal stories we heard, and the gratitude we saw in the eyes of people who often feel forgotten or alone. Many were new immigrants still adjusting to life in Israel. Others were elderly individuals living on very limited incomes.

For each of them, these food packages were more than groceries. They were a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not facing their challenges alone.

Anna immigrated to Israel from Ukraine in 2016 with her daughter, hoping to build a new life.

Today, Anna lives with a severe disability. Along with chronic illness, she suffers from complex neuropathy that has left her hands nonfunctional. She depends on costly medications and ongoing care just to get through daily life.

Anna and her 17-year-old daughter live in government housing and rely on disability benefits, but those benefits do not always cover their basic needs. Her daughter also has a disability, yet she faithfully does her best to help care for her mother.

During the war, they spent long periods living in bomb shelters, carrying the weight of uncertainty and fear day after day.

When Anna and her daughter discovered the MTI Assistance Center, they found help, encouragement, and hope. Because of the generosity of our sponsors, we were honored to provide clothing assistance and financial support during a very difficult season.

Alla has turned to us for help for the second time.

Living alone in Israel, she has no family nearby and no support system to lean on during difficult seasons of life.

After experiencing financial hardship, Alla has struggled to regain stability. Due to her age and ongoing health challenges, she is only able to work limited hours, making it difficult to cover even her basic needs.

Because of your generosity, we were able to come alongside her by covering three months of utility bills and providing two months of food assistance.

For Alla, this support meant far more than financial help. It was a reminder that she is not forgotten, that someone cares, and that hope is still present even in the midst of hardship.

She expressed deep gratitude for the kindness shown to her during a time when she felt alone and overwhelmed.

Maria has turned to us for help three times.

Her husband is the only full-time income earner in their home, while they also support Maria’s mother, a refugee from Ukraine, covering her housing and living expenses.

After giving birth to their third child, Maria was unable to work for several months and later returned only part-time. As they worked to make ends meet, another unexpected challenge arose—urgent dental treatment costing nearly 6,000 shekels.

For this family, it was simply impossible to afford.

Because of the generosity of friends like you, we were able to step in with financial assistance to help cover these critical expenses. When the war brought even greater hardship, we were able to support them again.

When Maria received the help, tears filled her eyes. She was overwhelmed with gratitude, knowing that someone cared enough to stand beside her family during one of the most difficult seasons of their lives.

This is what your support makes possible—not just meeting practical needs, but bringing hope, dignity, and reminding families that they are not alone.

Sometimes support means so much more than meeting a practical need — it creates community, joy, and a place to belong ❤️

For Olga, Wallball has become much more than a workout. What started as a way to stay active has become a source of energy, friendship, and encouragement. Every training session brings movement, excitement, laughter, and the kind of community that makes you want to keep coming back.

In a new country, finding people who share your interests and remind you that you are not alone can make all the difference. Through these trainings, Olga found meaningful friendships and a true sense of belonging.

Wallball has helped her stay healthy, active, and enjoy life in a positive way — and sometimes even her children join the fun, making the experience even more special.

🇮🇱 Honoring the Heart of Israel

Last week, we celebrated Jerusalem Day—a profoundly meaningful day marking the reunification of Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people.

The energy was unforgettable. The streets of Jerusalem were alive with joy, music, and a sea of blue and white flags. Families, young people, soldiers, and visitors from all over the country gathered as one to honor the city’s incredible history and enduring spirit.

Jerusalem is so much more than a city; it is a place of faith, prayer, hope, and promise for millions around the world. Seeing thousands celebrating together was a powerful reminder of how Jerusalem continues to unite people across every generation and background.

Sometimes behind one request for help is an entire story of survival.

A mother and her 14-year-old son made aliyah to Israel in 2024, hoping for a fresh start and a better future. She immediately began working cleaning jobs to provide for her son and rebuild their lives.

But then came divorce. Domestic violence. Relocation. War. Serious health problems.

Today, severe back pain limits her ability to work, debts have piled up, groceries are being purchased on credit, and her teenage son is struggling deeply with the transition—becoming withdrawn, isolated, and in need of psychological support.

Because of wartime complications with paperwork, the family was also unable to receive government financial assistance.

Thanks to your support, we were able to step in—providing financial assistance, covering school-related expenses, and supplying grocery cards worth 400₪ per month for 3 months.

Thank you for helping families experience hope, dignity, and practical care during some of their hardest moments ❤️
