TROOP 10

10/18/2026

Yesterday, Troop 10 Scout, Clinton Morgan had the prestigious opportunity to be sworn in to the Tennessee Army National Guard by Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Clinton was one of a few new recruits selected from the Tennessee Army National Guard, the rest of the youth were new ROTC Cadets at the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

If you watch the attached video to the end, when the National Guard are sworn in, Clinton is in the 2nd row when they move in to get a group picture.

Congratulations Clinton!

Today our scouts got to work with the Tri-State Therapeutic Riding Center on the Horsemanship Merit Badge. Our scouts learned about the horses diet, how to clean and saddle a horse, did several riding exercises and more. Thank you so much to the Therapeutic Riding Arena and of course Jessica ( #1 and #2), Kelli, Cara, Terri and Mariah for volunteering your time to teach our scouts, they absolutely loved it!

SERVICE DAY for Troop 10. Many of our Scouts worked at Berywood Farm doing general cleaning and light maintenance. Several helped with the Cub Fishing Derby that was happening down at the pond.

We are so appreciative Berywood Farm once again chose to bless our Troop with this annual fundraiser in honor of our previous Scoutmaster, Dr. Cecil Stanbery. It's always super fun event and certainly a bonus that we get to attend and take part! Here's some great pics of the hottest ticket in town.

Troop 10 Scouts and leaders indulged their nostalgia this weekend with a tribute to The Great Hiwassee River Raft Race. While doing this we realized something important: It is shocking how rusty their skills were after missing just one year (2025).
Troop 10 is all about competition, and this weekend was no exception... but the Raft Race was more than that. For 46 years kids constructed a watercraft using the skills they developed in the Scouting program. Then, they put that watercraft on the river and actually competed in a race. For Scouts, this is the ultimate test and reinforcement of their abilities. For leaders, it is the ultimate test of the strength of their program.
BIG high five to the Scouts of Troop 10 for choosing to honor this tradition.

Get up!
Get out!
Get going!

Boredom is not a state of mind... it is the symptom of a state of mind.

From events to real leadership opportunities, our program is proven effective in motivating youth to venture beyond mindless activity.

Troop 10 is looking for young people who are ready to expand their horizon. We are open to all youth ages 11-18.
