Latina Image Leadership Program

Latina Image Leadership Program LATINA IMAGE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM is a program offered
by Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center.

We build leaders by inspiring and educating young Latina women ages 13 to 18 to achieve their full potential through the power of sisterhood. Latina Image Leadership Program builds leaders by inspiring and educating young Latina women ages 13 to 17 to achieve their full potential through the power of sisterhood. Upon completion of the program, many of the participants will become ambassadors and r

epresent Julia de Burgos Cultural Arts Center at community and cultural events where they are able to put into practice the skills and knowledge they have learned and will carry with them for a lifetime. The participants will be taken through an intense 6-month course in which they will learn:

Elegance, confidence, and new beginnings 🤍✨ Miss Latina Image 2026, Victoria Arriojas, had the honor of representing our program at the grand opening of Lola’s Boutique Bridal. Celebrating dreams and beautiful milestones alongside our community was a reminder that confidence shines brightest when we support and uplift one another. Congratulations to Lola’s Boutique on this exciting new chapter, and thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special day.

Understanding others helps us better understand ourselves 🤝✨ We were honored to welcome the Diversity Center to our program, where our participants learned about respect, empathy, and the importance of using the names and pronouns people identify with. A special thank you to Em and the entire Diversity Center team for visiting us and leading such a meaningful conversation that reminded us that our differences make our community stronger.

Comprender a los demás nos ayuda a comprendernos mejor a nosotros mismos 🤝✨ Tuvimos el honor de recibir al Diversity Center en nuestro programa, donde nuestras participantes aprendieron sobre el respeto, la empatía y la importancia de utilizar los nombres y pronombres con los que cada persona se identifica. Learning new skills one recipe at a time 👩‍🍳✨ Our participants had the opportunity to take a cooking class at Via Sana, where they learned the importance of healthy eating, teamwork, and trying new things.

Aprendiendo nuevas habilidades, una receta a la vez 👩‍🍳✨ Nuestras participantes tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en una clase de cocina en Via Sana, donde aprendieron sobre la importancia de una alimentación saludable, el trabajo en equipo y atreverse a probar cosas nuevas.

Our Latina Image participants had the opportunity to visit the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, where they explored fascinating exhibits, learned about wildlife native to Ohio, and got a closer look at animals and the habitats they call home.
From watching a live animal presentation to discovering fossils and exhibits that tell the story of our natural world, the experience was both educational and inspiring. 🌎🐢

Opportunities like these allow us to learn beyond the classroom, spark curiosity, and gain a deeper appreciation for the world around us.

🦋🦴✨ ¡Un día lleno de descubrimiento y aprendizaje!
Nuestras participantes de Latina Image tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar el Cleveland Museum of Natural History, donde exploraron exhibiciones fascinantes, aprendieron sobre los animales nativos de Ohio y conocieron más sobre los hábitats donde viven.

Desde una presentación en vivo de animales hasta fósiles y exhibiciones que cuentan la historia de nuestro mundo natural, la experiencia fue educativa, divertida e inspiradora. 🌎🐢
Experiencias como esta nos permiten aprender más allá del salón de clases, despertar nuestra curiosidad y desarrollar una mayor apreciación por la naturaleza que nos rodea.
