This beautiful girl pictured here is Eira. While she will not be attending the event, she is looking for that special home to welcome her in. This gorgeous quirky lady with 2 different colored eyes loves to play fetch and be with her people. She is very smart and loves puzzle toys. When she arrived at Tails, her anxiety was through the roof. She is now doing great in her foster home and is ready for her next adventure.

If you want to know more about her, please send us an email or fill out an ap!

We like to make fun positive posts to tell you about our upcoming fundraiser on October 3. If we don’t focus on the good, animal rescuers would just sit in a corner and cry too often to admit.

If you ask where your money would go if you attend our 15th birthday celebration, it’s an easy answer….it all goes to the animals in our care. Routine costs are basically covered by adoption fees. But things often happen that can’t be planned. We have been to the emergency vet with 3 different kitties in the past 2 weeks. The first one was found by a Good Samaritan who contacted us because the kitten needed financial backing to be seen by the er. Unfortunately, the kitten was in severe pain and too anemic to survive leg amputation surgery, and had to be humanely euthanized. The second one was in foster care, and was found to have a blood infection that prevented his blood from reproducing new blood cells. Unfortunately, he passed away naturally as his body was just too weak.

And here is a pic of the third, named Sprinkler. She was found as she almost got hit by a car (at least we think she wasn’t hit, but tbd as we assess her). She is very nervous around people and was getting eaten alive by fleas, so is extremely anemic. We don’t know if her little body is going to be strong enough to recover, but she is lucky that our rescue exists so she is getting lots of TLC in her amazing foster home.

This is our reality, so your support by attending our fundraiser and your donations truly do make a difference in the lives of our animals. Get your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and anyone you know to attend our event with you on October 3. And if you can’t attend, please purchase some raffle tickets and/or share so others can. Also send prayers to this little one as she is doing ok today, but is not out of the woods.

Here is the link for tickets. We would love to see you all at Around The Corner in Lakewood at 2:00pm on October 3!
