started with our featuring Chef Jeremy Umansky of Larder Delicatessen & Bakery. After a little mingling and some drinks, Chef Jeremy led attendees in a fun pickling activity! Everyone made their own creation, and as Jeremy taught everyone how fermenting works, they were assisted by 4 high school students from East Tech High School's Culinary Arts Program! A great way to start the night.

We're so lucky that this Associate Board member works in the CRC! Alcedo Carey (a.k.a. "Carey") learned about our mission and was instantly moved to get more involved. We know we can always count on Carey to lend a helping hand, and he quickly became a part of the SC4K family! Read on to learn more about Carey's background and favorites!

📣 We may have missed last Friday’s reel, but there’s still plenty happening at SC4K!

Here’s a look at some of the ways our community has been showing up for students, educators, and families:

🤝 Connecting with future volunteers: Autumn and Shavonne attended the Case Western Reserve University Fall Community Service Day, connecting with students interested in giving back and learning more about volunteer opportunities at SC4K.

💙 Volunteers making an impact: Our friends at Wealth Advocate Group brought six returning volunteers who jumped right in! They helped break down shelving in our staging area as renovations continued and restocked supplies in the dock area ahead of teacher shopping.

👟 Another incredible volunteer team: Seven volunteers from NPR Group helped restock our Direct Service Area, organize clothing by size, clean our newly installed store shelving, and prepare the dock area for teacher shopping. As returning volunteers, they remembered our previous space and were excited to see how the new space is taking shape!

We’re so grateful for every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and skills to help us keep our programs moving forward. Your support makes a difference. ❤️

Want to get involved? We’d love to have you join us! Volunteer with SC4K and help us continue breaking barriers to school attendance for local students in need.
