Horse Therapy Experience
Choose between the 11 am or 12:30 pm timeslots
Olmsted Township

Adoptive, Foster, and Kinship Families are invited to join us on the farm for some therapeutic horse activities. Children and Teens will be able to engage with the horses (no riding) and other animals in a safe and friendly environment. Note: Group size is limited to 10 children, so we are offering two separate time slots. Please only register your family for one.

🧗What it means to go Over The Edge with Adoption Network Cleveland🧗

Recently one of our Over The Edge Committee members Brittany Kent shared some lovely words about what it means to be part of this urban rappelling adventure with us -- and we wanted to share!

Rappelling over the side of a building requires trust, preparation, and support. You secure yourself with a harness, rely on ropes and anchors, and use friction devices and safety backups to guide every careful step downward. The most difficult part is often not the descent itself; it’s the moment you lean back over the edge and choose to trust that you will be held.

Healing can feel like standing at the edge of something overwhelming: uncertain, vulnerable, and outside of your control. But just as no one rappels alone, no one should have to navigate the adoption journey alone either. The support Adoption Network Cleveland provides become the harness, the anchor points, and the “third hand” safety backup that allow individuals and families to move forward safely, even when the path feels steep.

Going over the edge can be scary. Going through life alone — that’s terrifying.

There are many reasons a person chooses to step up to the edge of that building believing they can conquer it. Some do it to prove something to themselves. Some do it for someone they love. Some do it because they know courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision to move forward despite it. In many ways, that mirrors the adoption journey itself: learning to trust support systems, reclaim control after circumstances outside your control, and discovering that strength often comes from allowing others to hold the rope with you.

Join us TONIGHT - June 17 at 7:00 pm for a General Discussion Support Meeting, facilitated by veteran facilitators, Kim and Denice.

General Discussion Meetings provide a safe place where people can share their feelings and experiences, get support from their peers, and learn from others’ perspectives. The meetings have an open discussion format and are attended by anyone with a connection to adoption or foster care, including adult adoptees, birth parents, siblings, and adoptive parents, those who have experienced foster or kinship care, or DNA discoveries such as misattributed parentage or donor conception.
