We met with Maxwell Plichta of Interior Alaska Land Trust, Danny Welch of the Fairbanks North Star Borough, and Ellen Lyons of Salcha-Delta Soil & Water Conservation District to talk land conservation, partnerships and the challenges facing Interior Alaska.

Because protecting land takes more than one organization.

It takes relationships, local knowledge and people willing to work together.

Today took us to the Morris Thompson Cultural & Visitors Center—an incredible introduction to the people, cultures and landscapes that make Interior Alaska so unique.

A good reminder that conservation isn't just about protecting land.

It's about protecting the stories, traditions, wildlife and communities connected to it.

And there's plenty more Alaska to explore.

A recent Utah report highlights how the health of the Great Salt Lake is connected to national security and military readiness.

CLF is proud to be a partner in the Great Salt Lake Sentinel Landscape, working alongside Utah and other partners to protect the lands and resources that connect the lake, surrounding communities and military installations—including Hill Air Force Base.

Through conservation, CLF is helping address development pressure, protect water resources and working lands, preserve wildlife habitat, and support military readiness.
