CABVI’s online silent auction opens Monday, November 2, at 9 am, ahead of our event on Saturday, November 7. Today is White Cane Awareness Day! 🤍

First recognized nationally in 1964, this day celebrates the white cane as a symbol of independence, confidence, and freedom of movement for people who are blind or visually impaired. It also raises awareness about the importance of pedestrian safety and accessibility.

At CABVI, our Orientation & Mobility services help individuals with vision loss build skills to navigate their world with greater confidence and independence. 👓 Today is World Sight Day! Healthy vision plays an important role in how we connect with the world around us. World Sight Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about vision health, encourage regular eye care, and recognize the importance of access to services and support for people living with vision loss.

We were glad to attend the ribbon cutting for the newly renovated Monroe Rest Area, one of Ohio’s most visited rest areas! As part of the statewide effort to rebuild and remodel rest areas across Ohio under Governor Mike DeWine, the new facilities include exhibit rooms highlighting Ohio attractions, history, parks, and communities.

Our CABVI Custom Signage team was proud to create signage featured throughout the rest area. Our sign business is one of the ways we put our mission into action, creating employment opportunities on an inclusive team where people who are blind or visually impaired can contribute their skills and talents.

It was great to celebrate the opening with Governor DeWine and everyone who helped make this project possible!
