Found House IHN

Found House IHN Keeping families together-however they define themselves-through housing loss; working to house all.

Found House IHN offers Emergency Shelter and community-based housing programs to meet the needs of families experiencing homelessness. A brief description of each of our programs is below:

Emergency Shelter meets the basic needs of 100 families each year with the help of caring volunteers from interfaith congregations, all while helping families to plan and prepare for brighter futures. The Child

Enrichment program provides school and development supports for more than 200 children annually. Our Pet Support program allows children and parents who become homeless to keep their dog, cat, or small companion animals with them on-site during their shelter stay. Aftercare services provide a short-term safety net for 35 former Emergency Shelter families that need extra help to achieve case plan goals and maintain stability. Our Rapid Re-housing program provides case management and partial rental support for up to two years for 50 families that have recently experienced homelessness

The Permanent Supportive Housing program places 25 families directly from shelter into scattered site housing with ongoing rental support and case management, tailored specifically for families with a disabling physical or mental health condition and/or a history of chronic homelessness. Shelter Diversion stabilizes 25 at-risk families each year to prevent homelessness.

Juneteenth, the day that marked freedom for enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, and a pivotal moment on the path to the abolition of slavery in the United States later that year.

“Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory or an acceptance of the way things are. It’s a celebration of progress. It’s an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible—and there is still so much work to do.” — Barack Obama

Whether you’re gathering with family, attending a community event, or taking time to reflect, we invite you to join us in recognizing this important chapter in our nation’s history.
