Thank you to everyone who came out and celebrated the opening of our 2026 Indigenous Peoples’ Day Convergence exhibition!

It was an incredible night with over 800 attendees and we cannot wait to keep the weekend going for ya!

Next up is our local relative, Kobi Morgan!!

Kobi is a mixed-media artist enrolled in the Navajo Nation, living and working in Cincinnati. He graduated in 2025 from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelors in art history. His senior thesis focused on Julie Buffalohead’s zoomorphic prints. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the Taft Museum of Art, and in his free time, Kobi helps direct a local fashion show, called Reclaimed Runways.

Our next artist to highlight is Hiro Cash!

A contemporary artist from Gallup, NM, Hiro is a student at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. Working across canvas and paper through painting and collage, his work transforms lived experience through bizarre characters, abstract forms, and a personal visual universe. Hiro also draws heavily from metal, punk, and alternative music, channeling their energy into paintings about perception, fantasy, creativity, and freedom.

Next we have Cole Reuben!

An artist and assistant curator at the Rock Foundation in Rochester, NY, Cole has curated exhibitions for institutions throughout Haudenosaunee territory. His recent research focuses on collections of the Haudenosaunee held in Amsterdam, Denmark, and throughout the U.S. Cole’s work reflects the traditional forms of his ancestors, drawing from the materials, knowledge, and resources they had on hand. Through this approach, he creates historical and meaningful works of art grounded in Haudenosaunee culture, continuity, and material practice.

Our next featured artist is Jaque “Mobil Savage” Fragua.

Jaque Fragua, aka Mobil Savage, is an artist from the Pueblo of Jemez whose work addresses identity, culture, history, and activism. His multidisciplinary practice includes studio painting, mural creation, sculpture, installation, and public art. Across mediums, his art challenges stereotypes and engages the cultural and political realities of Native peoples and the conditions shaping Indigenous communities today.

Next up is Carlos Ramirez!

Born in California’s Coachella Valley, and formerly part of The Date Farmers, Carlos creates detailed mixed-media works rooted in graffiti, Mexican street murals, revolutionary posters, prison art, Oaxacan sign painting, lowrider culture, and tattoo art. Working with found objects, recycled signage, and typography, Ramirez reshapes symbols to address social inequality, stolen Indigenous land, police violence and ICE arrests.

Our next artist to highlight is Steph Littlebird!

Steph Littlebird, an artist, curator, writer, and member of Oregon’s Grand Ronde Confederated Tribes (Clatsop Chinook, Afalati Kalapuya), received national recognition for curating This IS Kalapuyan Land at the Five Oaks Museum. Her illustrated children’s book My Powerful Hair received the Carter G. Woodson Social Studies Award in 2024. Her author debut, You Are the Land, an ode to the Willamette Valley, was published by Penguin Random House in February of 2026.

Meet our artists for this year’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day Convergence!

First up is Robert Franklin.
Robert Franklin is graphic designer, documentarian, and multidisciplinary artist. He is Hashk’aa Hadzohí, Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line Clan, and born for the Táchii’nii, Red Running Into the Water Clan. His work offers an urban-based Navajo perspective on history, contemporary culture, and social commentary. Grounded in community and storytelling, Franklin describes himself as an “Old Millennial,” using his practice to bridge generational gaps while combining nostalgia with innovation.

Join us on MONDAY for our annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Feast and Celebration!

Every year we gather together as a community on Indigenous Peoples’ Day to share food, music, dance, and singing. Make plans to share this time with us. Bring a dish to share, utensils and plates to reduce waste, and a chair or blanket to sit on.

We will kick things off at 4pm at Hoffner Park in Northside and Copper Face United & Rachel Secody will perform around 6PM!

Join us for a special story time and art workshop featuring Indigenous artist, writer, and illustrator Steph Littlebird as part of this year’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day Convergence!

Steph will lead a hands-on session centered on storytelling, contemporary Indigenous art, and creative expression for our youth. Come connect with community and create something meaningful together!
