As Hamilton Countyโ€™s only open-intake animal shelter and sole provider of animal services for the county, we care for animals from all kinds of situations, including cruelty cases.

For their safety, we do not share any identifying photos of them on our website. Which makes it harder for them to find a home when people don't get the opportunity to fall in love online first.

Our new arrivals area is going under construction on Monday, which means we have to clear an entire kennel run before the work begins.

And hereโ€™s the challenge: when dogs first arrive at our shelter, they have a mandatory 72-hour stray hold. During that time, they cannot be adopted, ๐›๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฒ ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ ๐จ ๐ข๐ง๐ญ๐จ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฌ. ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿถ

๐Ÿšจ WE NEED TO CLEAR 40 KENNELS! ๐Ÿšจ
We operate out of the old SPCA Cincinnati building, and this 60 year old building needs some much-needed construction and repairs. But before that work can begin, we have to close an entire run of 40 kennels.

That means we need 40 kennels cleared. And we need your help to make it happen.

Fighting Chance Rescue 501 c3 opened their doors and their hearts to the horses seized from Muddy Waters Ranch last year, and now they need our help with much-needed repairs from housing so many horses. Since this case, theyโ€™ve already taken in 15 more horses in the past few months.

Sideshow Bob was stood up for his FIRST meet and greet after 522 days in our shelter system๐Ÿ˜ญ

He was excited. He was ready. He was hoping that maybe, just maybe, this was his day. ๐Ÿฅบ
But they never showed up.

Please, donโ€™t do this. ๐Ÿ’” If you have a meet-and-greet scheduled with a foster, please communicate with them. Our fosters rearrange their lives, prepare their homes, and most importantly, they help their foster animals hold onto hope.

Please donโ€™t give an animal hope just to take it away.
