May We Help Engineering Inabilities into Capabilities At May We Help, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a full and independent life.

That's why we provide free, custom solutions for individuals with disabilities. Our team of talented volunteers, including engineers, designers, inventors, and artisans, works together to create unique devices that address specific needs and challenges. From adaptive equipment to assistive technologies, we strive to empower individuals with disabilities to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. In addition to the custom solutions, we also offer a variety of adaptive equipment, including walkers, wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, and more. May We Help also offers programs to children in the disabled community. Our annual Halloween party, held in October, is a great event featuring costumes made by our volunteers to incorporate the child's wheelchair into the costume. At Christmas time, we host a satellite workshop for Santa with a toy box full of switch-adapted toys. The event offers sweet treats and a visit with Santa. The best part of May We Help is that all of our solutions, equipment, and programming are supported by generous donors who help us offer everything we do free of cost to the recipient. Sometimes you get to see the work in progress. Eesa is a returning recipient. When he gets agitated he likes to spin. This was test day- checking to see if what was built works for the family and if it needs any tweaks. In this case a guard rail was discussed to keep the feet from hanging off the edge.

Solution Update! 🥰 Eesa loves using his ride-on vehicle, but was beginning to outgrow his current, standard model. The vehicle not only provides Eesa with independence, but the moving sensation also helps with emotional regulation and has an immediate calming affect when he's upset. His family was eager to find a solution and were referred to us by the Perlman Center at Children’s Hospital. We were thrilled to assist in adapting a Go Baby Go vehicle for his specific needs!

See you tonight for our final equipment event of the month! Physical Therapists will be on-site to match and fit equipment, and modification experts can make in-the-moment repairs or modifications. More complex modifications may require scheduling a pick-up after the event. We currently have a number of patient lifts and easy stand items available!

All equipment is previously owned and is FREE to the recipient.

The event is open-house style. You will check in with a volunteer and then meet with a volunteer PT to review your equipment needs and be fitted for a piece of equipment, as we have it available.

What a night! Our Engineering Dreams Gala brought together an incredible community of supporters, partners, volunteers and friends who helped us raise nearly $350,000 toward our mission!

As students head back to school, every classroom should be a place where they have the opportunity to learn and succeed. For many students with ADHD, autism, and other learning disabilities, however, a traditional classroom can be filled with distractions. A local school requested a solution that would help create a quieter, more structured workspace where students could better focus on learning and feel more confident in the classroom.

Our volunteers designed and built custom Focus Desks to create a dedicated space for students who benefit from fewer distractions. Here's how they work:
✅ Cuts the Clutter: Three-sided privacy panels block out peripheral movement and dampen sound, helping students conserve mental energy for their actual work.
✅ Creates a Safe Zone: Clear physical boundaries provide a highly predictable "micro-environment" that lowers anxiety and prevents sensory overload.
✅ Signals "Brain Mode": Sitting at the desk acts as an environmental cue, making it easier for students to transition from social time to deep focus.
