SOTENI International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the United States and Kenya with over 20 years of experience in sustainable development and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Our mission now includes breaking the cycle of poverty AND disease by advancing entrepreneurship, health services, and wellbeing. In 2020, we joined forces with Swazi SHEROES to empower women and girls in Eswatini, who are among the world’s most vulnerable to HIV.

Earlier this month, SOTENI was grateful to once again be part of the Flying Pig Marathon weekend as an official charity partner. 🐷

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, supported the Piggest Raffle, volunteered, and helped spread awareness about SOTENI and our programs in Kenya.

Special thank you to our volunteers, including Alaa Tukurna (at our charity booth), and to Rocky, SOTENI’s furry supporter, for representing us during the Flying Fur event. We are also grateful to Joel Barnhill, Mia Perdue, and the entire Pig Works team for their continued support of local nonprofits and community organizations.

Community events like these continue to help us build connections locally while supporting our work globally. 💙

Last Friday was special.
The SOTENI Soiree wasn’t just an event, it was a reminder of what community feels like. A room full of people who care. Who listen. Who believe that health, dignity, and opportunity should not depend on geography.
We are so thankful to our incredible speakers for sharing their hearts and experiences. To our generous hosts for inviting their friends and family. And to every single person who attended and volunteered, your presence meant more than you know.
The conversations, the questions, the encouragement, it all matters.
Because of evenings like this, the work in Kenya continues to grow stronger. Healthcare improves. Community health workers are supported. Families move forward with hope.
