Cincinnati SWAP Meeting

Another great Cincinnati SWAP meeting filled with connection, conversation, and community!

A big thank you to Erin and IKRON Corporation for hosting lunch and for our community partners to come together. IKRON provides integrated behavioral health, employment, youth, peer, education, health home, and support services throughout the greater Cincinnati and Seattle areas.

We also had some great conversations and education from our local first responders and community leaders.

🚒 Kevin Uhl, District Chief with Cincinnati Fire Department, shared information about the Compass Team through UC Hospital and their work helping connect people to inpatient treatment and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

👮 Tom Synan with Newtown Police Department spoke about the evolving response to opioid addiction and the importance of meeting people where they are.

These conversations matter. When we work together, share resources, and build strong relationships, we create more opportunities for people to get connected to the care and support they need.

Thank you to all of our community partners who continue to show up, support one another, and put community over competition.

We had a great SWAP (Socializing With A Purpose) meeting today! We mingled, munched, listened, learned, and connected with one another.

A special thank you to Elise with Sojourner Recovery Services for sharing about their behavioral health and substance use services, including treatment, recovery housing, MAT, case management, peer support, and more.

Community over competition! Together, we share resources, build relationships, and strengthen our recovery community. ✨

Today’s Cincinnati’s SWAP Meeting was another great opportunity to connect, collaborate, and learn from incredible community partners.

Thank you to Next Life Recovery Center for presenting and sharing more about their compassionate, personalized approach to recovery; including therapy, counseling, holistic care, and comprehensive aftercare support.

Grateful for the connections that help strengthen our recovery community and ensure people have access to the support they need.

Lived experience is a voice for change.

Today, the Hamilton County Commissioners recognized the On the Front Lines Community Alliance Advisory Board and proclaimed August 31 as Overdose Awareness Day in Hamilton County.

Since 2012, 5,220 lives have been lost to overdose in Hamilton County. We remember them and stand with those in recovery.

Recognition matters, but action matters more. Together, we must challenge stigma, expand access to support, and help people find a path to recovery.

This is more than awareness. This is a call to action.

Thank you to everyone who joined today’s On the Front Lines Community Alliance SWAP meeting!

We heard from The LIT Movement about their faith-based sober living program for men overcoming addiction, incarceration, and homelessness. We also welcomed Meagan Guthrie from the Hamilton County Office of Addiction Response for a meaningful discussion on opioid settlement funding.

We appreciate everyone who shared their ideas. Every voice matters, and together we’re building a stronger community.

Ohio START is looking for a full-time Family Peer Mentor in Hamilton County through Mental Health America of Northern Kentucky and Southwest Ohio.

📍 Blue Ash, OH
💵 Starting pay: $19 to $20/hour, based on experience

This is a meaningful opportunity for someone in long-term recovery who wants to use their lived experience to support parents and families involved with Ohio START and the child welfare system.

Applicants must have lived experience with substance use recovery and lived experience with the child welfare system as a parent, with the case closed at least one year, or indirect lived experience with the child welfare system. Applicants should also have or be willing to obtain Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter certification.
