Last week, we participated in the Ukrainian Action Summit in Washington, DC, an important opportunity to advocate for Ukraine directly with U.S. lawmakers.

Our discussions focused on three key policy priorities:
• Strengthening sanctions against Russia
• Addressing the abduction of Ukrainian children
• Expanding defense and economic partnerships

We could not attend the event, but there was the“Bring Kids Back” event on April 23 at the National Mall. This initiative highlights a tragic reality: thousands of Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russia, taken from their families, and subjected to forced re-education in militarized environments.

This is not widely discussed enough — but it must be.

During the summit, we met with members of Congress, senators, and representatives to advocate for action and encourage support for critical legislation addressing these issues. While not every conversation led to immediate results, these discussions matter and must continue.

We would especially like to thank Rep. Greg Landsman for his continued support of Ukraine. It is always a pleasure to meet and engage in meaningful dialogue with leaders who stand firmly for freedom and justice.

We remain committed to raising awareness, pushing for accountability, and supporting Ukraine.

Thanks to Nazly Mamedova and Alla Deroun who continue representing the Ukrainian community of Cincinnati at the Summit.

And special thanks to the entire Ohio delegation for making the meaningful mission in a friendly and joyful vibe!

If you want to participate in the next Summit - please reach out to get information.

Come join us and Oksana Lyniv in her CSO debut, Ukrainian conductor Oksana Lyniv leads a program that weaves together powerful stories. Evgeni Orkin’s Five Interrupted Lullabies opens with a series of haunting lullabies, each symbolically interrupted to mark innocence lost to war. Smetana’s “The Moldau” spins and swirls with dueling flutes as it journeys along the winding Vltava River, while Dvořák’s Golden Spinning Wheel weaves a tale of fate and destiny, where enchanting melodies intertwine with dark, mysterious forces. Esther Yoo joins for Prokofiev’s First Violin Concerto, written during the 1917 Russian Revolution and telling a story all its own.

It embodies courage, resilience, and the daily fight for freedom. It carries our memories, our determination, and our hope.

“Breaking the silence; Russia’s abduction of ukraine’s children exposed: an organised war crime🚨🇺🇦

On behalf of the Emile Foundation, I spoke at GLOBSEC’s panel, “Is there anything sacred? Protecting children in armed conflict,” exposing Russia’s targeting of Ukrainian children in a war of power and greed.

Ukraine has fought bravely for three years while global responses; speeches, sanctions; fall short. Russia claims it “saves” children. This is a lie. For those who believe Russia saved these children, as propagandists claim, I challenge you: Were any Geneva Convention protocols followed? They never were.

⚖️ The Geneva Convention requires:
➡️ Register children with the Red Cross.
➡️ Ensure family contact.
➡️ Allow UNICEF/Red Cross visits.
➡️ Move them to a neutral country.

3 years on and Russia has done none of these. They have done the opposite.

The Yale Humanitarian Research Lab’s December 2024 report, led by Nathaniel Raymond reveals:
➡️ 314 children from Donetsk and Luhansk forcibly made Russian citizens, identities erased, names changed, hidden in adoption databases; not shared with Ukraine.
➡️ This cultural genocide threatens children across occupied areas.

The Numbers:
💫 Ukraine: 19,546 children deported since 2022; 1,236 returned (gov.ua, 2025).
💫 Russia: Claims 744,000 “evacuated”; no proof (Lvova-Belova, 2023).
💫 Yale: 35,000+ deported; 8,400+ in 57 facilities (2024).

The Emile Foundation supports Kherson orphanage families searching for their children, The children from the Kherson orphanage (often referred to as the Kherson regional children’s home) were mostly infants to 5 years old and as young as 1 year. No families were contacted, as Russia claims; they know nothing about their children, some adopted by Russian families. These children aren’t saved; they’re abducted, pawns in Russia’s game.

As you enjoy this weekend with your children, spare a thought for the Ukrainian parents who can no longer hold theirs, stolen by death or forcibly deported to Russia and occupied territories, their innocence erased by a heartless war crime. 💔🇺🇦”
