Ebola Update from DR Congo: Please join us in praying for the people of Sud-Ubangi Province, DR Congo, where authorities have confirmed a case of the Ebola virus. The affected area is approximately 60 km south of Gemena, where our CEUM partners are located.

Provincial leaders and health officials are mobilizing a response, including increased surveillance, public awareness efforts, and patient care. At this time, we are monitoring the situation closely and remain in contact with our partners in the region.

Please pray for:

- Protection of healthcare workers and response teams
- Wisdom for local leaders and health authorities
- Safety for our partners and the communities they serve
- Peace for those who feel afraid
- Prevention efforts to be successful

The Ebola outbreak in eastern Congo has now spread to seven provinces in the country, local authorities said. It’s the fastest-growing outbreak on record.

In 2025, Eli, a 12-year-old from Augusta, Georgia, took part in the Biking for Congo Challenge to help raise support for healthcare in DR Congo.

After learning about the challenge, Eli was inspired to get involved. "Learning that some people in Congo have to bike more than 31 miles for medical care when they are sick has made me want to join in and help raise funds and awareness," Eli shared. "I like to think about being a part of helping bring medical care to people who need it," he said. "I look forward to participating again next year."

Eli's story reminds us that the Biking for Congo Challenge is about compassion, community, and making a lasting impact for families who need access to healthcare.

Thank you, Eli, for inspiring us all! We hope to see you on the trail again this year!
