Paul Carlson Partnership

Paul Carlson Partnership Paul Carlson Partnership serves medical and economic development in the Equateur Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In 1964, Dr. Paul Carlson, a medical missionary with the Evangelical Covenant Church, was martyred while serving in Congo. Shortly after, Paul Carlson Partnership (then known as “Paul Carlson Medical Program”) was created in his honor to continue his work. In the five decades since, Congo has experienced ongoing war and unrest. Exploitation and conflict have sadly become a way of life. Through it

all, P*P has stayed the course with medical and pharmaceutical support, economic development programs, and operational support of the local leadership.

The Democratic Republic of Congo has been in the news lately because of the Ebola outbreak. We are closely monitoring the situation and watching for any impact it may have with our partners in the Covenant Church of Congo. So far, no cases have been reported there, for which we thank God! In the meantime, our mission continues toward the goal to support healthcare needs in the region. One way we do this is through our annual peer-to-peer event, The Biking for Congo Challenge. This event is designed to get as many people involved in caring for Congo while also giving you a fun, active way to do it! Sign up for the Biking for Congo Challenge today and support healthcare through Paul Carlson Partnership!

I’m taking on the Biking for Congo Challenge to help bring life-saving healthcare to DR Congo! Did you know some people bike over 30 miles—while sick—just to reach a hospital? Together, we can change that. ✅ Donate to my team or ✅ Join the challenge and ride with us!

Dear Mission Friends - Please Pray for DR Congo

We want to share an important update from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Ituri Province, located in the northeast, is currently facing an outbreak of Ebola. While this news is concerning, we are grateful to report that the Covenant Church of Congo has not reported any cases at this time and is actively monitoring the situation.

We invite you to join us in prayer for all those affected by this newest Ebola outbreak:

* For the spread of the virus to be quickly contained
* For protection over vulnerable communities
* For strength, wisdom, and provision for medical workers caring for patients
* For the leaders and partners on the ground as they respond with vigilance and compassion

Thank you for your prayers for the people of Congo. We will update you if we hear of any changes to the situation that may affect our partners in the CEUM.

Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare in the Democratic Republic of Congo. 💙
This International Nurses Day, we honor incredible Congoelse nurses, providing essential care like prescribing medicine, delivering babies, and even performing surgeries, often in incredibly challenging conditions.
Help us celebrate them by sharing a message of encouragement in the comments below, and we will send them to our nursing colleagues in DRC!

We are so thankful to be listed as one of the six Friends of World Mission (FOWM) projects for 2026: Providing Medical Care — DR Congo!
Through FOWM 2026, we have an incredible opportunity to strengthen the work of our partners in the DR Congo as they serve communities experiencing deep poverty. Your gift will address urgent needs and sustain programs that transform lives— medical care, infrastructure, clean water, and economic growth.

As we journey through the season of Lent, we are reminded that God is always at work restoring us and our world — and you can be a part of it!

Our global partners and personnel have identified six projects for 2026 — each one responding to local needs and supporting ministries that nurture healing and restoration, helping individuals find wholeness and strengthening communities.

This year's projects include:
🇪🇺 Restoring Dignity Inside Prison Walls — Europe
🕊️ Caring for Peacemakers — Middle East
📻 Broadcasting Messages of Hope — Nepal
🇦🇷 Strengthening the Church — Argentina
🌍 Building Communities of Peace — South Sudan
🏥 Providing Medical Care — DR Congo

Six projects around the world. Six opportunities for partnership.

Through Friends of World Mission, you can give to one project that speaks to your heart, or make a pacesetter gift of $1,500 to support all six equally.

Congratulations to Dr. Vincent and Dr. Jeannot, two CEUM doctors who received specialized training in SIGN Fracture Care - a method for repairing long bone fractures in low-resource settings.

Thanks to an International Rotary Grant, training, travel, meals, and surgical equipment were fully funded. They have completed training and returned to Karawa, where they are preparing for the next steps toward faster recovery and safer surgeries.

Thank you to our generous donors and partners who have made this possible!
