A place where youth leaders and seasoned leaders are seen as equals... 💙

Earlier this summer, Serving People with a Mission hosted our Youth Summit at CineCity Studios in Chicago.

It was a time to recognize and honor our young servant leaders—to give them strength, support them, and protect them. A safe space where servant leaders from all walks of life in Chicago are able to gather and project a good future together.

At the SPM Youth Summit, we enjoyed presentations from our youth in our servant leadership programs. We heard about their past impact, addressed the present, and spoke of the future.

With more young servant leaders coming out of Serving People with a Mission, our community's future is good.

A few weeks ago, members of SPM leaders had the opportunity to attend an event hosted by the Hadley Young Visionaries with our friends from the Springboard Foundation. It was an inspiring evening filled with meaningful connections, community, and learning more about Hadley's incredible mission and impact.

✨Philanthropic Project Recap! ✨

Our Hand-n-Hand Leadership participants turned compassion into action by collecting donations, volunteering at Shriners Children's Chicago, spending time with young patients, and giving back through a student-led fundraiser to raise money.

This project was organic youth leadership and is a powerful reminder that servant leadership is about using your experiences to uplift others and create lasting impact. We're so proud of our youth leaders and grateful to everyone who made this project possible to bring Good to our community. These leaders are continuously setting the example for their fellow peers in Chicago and beyond. 🌆🌎✨

One of the highlights of this philanthropic project was Axel's leadership as Co-Chair of the Rauner Cohort . ❤️

Axel inspired the idea of dedicating this project to Shriners Children's Chicago, where he was once a patient. He has never forgotten the compassion, care, and support he received during one of the most challenging times in his life.

Through this project, Axel had the opportunity to share his journey with his classmates and give them a glimpse into a side of recovery that many people never get to see.

Seeing Axel come full circle by giving back to the hospital that made such a lasting impact on his life was truly special. We are incredibly proud to have been part of this meaningful experience and grateful for everyone who helped make it possible.

Day 2 of the Philanthropy Project 💙

Our Hand-n-Hand Cohort (Group B) continued executing the philanthropy project with another meaningful visit to Shriners Children's Chicago.

Students toured the hospital, spent quality time playing games and connecting with the children, and had the special opportunity to personally hand out the donated resources.

To conclude the project, Axel, who helped lead this initiative and participated in both visits, presented a donation of funds raised through their student-led fundraiser to support the mission of Shriners Children's Chicago.

This project was more than collecting donations and resources; it was about creating moments of compassion and hope for children and families in our community and instilling servant leadership in the minds of our current young leaders 💙

Day 1 Ex*****on of the Philanthropy Project 💙

Our Hand-n-Hand Leadership Cohort from Rauner College Prep, A Noble School (Group A) had the opportunity to volunteer at Shriners Children's Chicago.

During the visit, students toured the hospital, delivered the resource donations they collected throughout their philanthropy drive. They also spent time with the youth patients, making new friends and strengthening the youth community overall.

Axel, one of our student leaders who has personally experienced being a patient at Shriners, shared, spending time with the children helped make their day "a little less boring and a little less lonely." 🫶

This is what servant youth/modern leadership looks like, using your own experiences to uplift others. 💙
