“But everyone else is…”

Different sukkahs. Different outings. Different plans.

When kids start comparing, our instinct can be to convince them how much they already have. But sometimes what they need first is for us to get curious about what’s underneath the comparison.

Our Clinical Director shares how to help kids move from what everyone else is doing toward feeling more connected to what your family is creating together.

And because sometimes they really are just bored 😅 don’t forget about our Boredom Box Activity Cards.

Sukkos brings a lot of togetherness, and a lot of activation.

The goal isn’t to never feel overwhelmed. It’s to notice what’s happening inside us before we react to what’s happening around us.

Comment BORED for our free Sukkos Boredom Box printable cards.

Wishing you a happy, calm, and connected Sukkos. Chag sameach! 🍋🌿

Sukkos asks us to step out of what feels familiar and into something more exposed, more temporary, less certain.

And maybe that’s part of the reminder:
You don’t need perfect certainty to stay grounded.

You can enter the unknown and still trust yourself there.

Tonight let’s continue the conversation.

Join us at 8:00 PM CST for What She Hears This Yom Tov with Dr. Marcy Forta, a conversation about the messages our daughters hear around shopping, cooking, eating, body image, and Yom Tov.

Head to our Stories to register and submit your questions for Dr. Marcy Forta.

There is strength in knowing when you need support and asking for it.

Sometimes strength looks like letting someone help carry what feels heavy.

We’re here to hold the weight with you…💙

Circle of Support pulled up a chair for Perfectionism today. 🔍

Perfectionism can sound like wanting to do your best. But sometimes underneath it is the fear of getting it wrong, making a mistake, or not measuring up.

And yes, this is much easier said than done. But maybe we can start by giving ourselves a little more room to learn, try, and figure things out as we go.

Who should Circle of Support pull up a chair for next?

Support starts before the appointment even begins.

We recently refreshed our Welcome Center kids’ area with toys, coloring books, crayons and fidgets to make waiting a little more comfortable. It’s there for children coming in for appointments, and also for siblings who may be waiting while a brother or sister is in therapy. Some of the fidgets and coloring items can even go home with them.

This time of year invites us to think more intentionally about how we show up for others, and sometimes that means paying attention to the details that help someone feel cared for.

The details matter. 💙
