Since 1987, Chicago Chesed Fund has been committed to helping Jewish families in crisis throughout metropolitan Chicago by providing immediate assistance.

Impact Through Kindness
A non-profit charity organization, founded in 1987, committed to providing compassionate support to the members of our community with kindness, dignity, and respect. Our more than 80 programs and services provide vital assistance to over 6,000 individuals a year. We battle hunger, prevent eviction and homelessness, and help the unemployed and underemployed secure jobs. Our flagship program is our food pantry, which has helped us become one of the largest food distribution centers in northern Cook county. We also offer a wide array of free merchandise to needy families, including clothing and shoes for adults and children, baby supplies, furniture, housewares and medical equipment.

💙 A little chesed, a lot of connection!

We loved welcoming the TOV, YLD, and Keshet volunteer cohort to ChesedChicago!

Each YLD participant partnered with a Keshet member to help hang up winter coats and get our clothing department ready for the season. But it was about so much more than coats - it was about building friendships, creating connections, and making sure everyone feels welcomed and included.

The energy was incredible, and it was so special to see everyone working side by side and making a difference together.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that mean the most. ❤️

Before Rosh Hashana, our volunteers delivered special Yom Tov gifts to some special households in our community -just a small way to let them know they were being thought of as they prepared for the new year.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for helping make each delivery a little more personal and meaningful.
