Brief History-
Cornerstone began as a small group effort in 1989, with a few people working to meet the needs of their neighbors. At that time, women with children were becoming the new faces of homelessness in America. CCO felt drawn to meet this need to serve and shelter women with children. Over the following 20 years our programs have expanded to serve around 500 men, women, and children daily
. As a result, hundreds of singles and families are given an opportunity to reclaim their lives from the devastating effects of poverty and homelessness. Loss of job, lack of resources, health problems, and addictions are some of the causes of homelessness for our residents. But no matter their background or situation, all of our residents have come to Cornerstone seeking help.
