We are heading to the inaugural Windy City Boat & Yacht Show this June! 🌊

Chicago’s premier in-water boat show takes place at Burnham Harbor June 12–14, 2026, featuring over 100 boats on the water, First Sail sailing sessions, and Cruisers Classroom expert talks led by industry experts.

On Sunday June 14, join us for Anchored in Hope: A Community Sunday, a day dedicated to family, community, and giving back, bringing together nonprofit partners, boaters, and families on the waterfront!

Summer is almost here! Boats are in the water and programs are just around the corner!

Last summer, CYCF partnered with Girls in the Game to bring a first-of-its-kind program to 31st Street Harbor. Three days of sailing and swimming for high school students from across Chicago. It went so well it’s coming back this summer for several weeks!

On the water, students sailed J/100s on Lake Michigan, learning to steer, trim sails, and work together as a crew. In the pool, small-group lessons focused on floating, breath control, and basic strokes. For many, it was their first time on a sailboat. For some, their first swim lesson.

We are proud to partner again with Girls in the Game to open up Lake Michigan to more of Chicago’s youth this summer!

Today is International Water Safety Day.

This fall, CYCF partnered with Girls in the Game to bring swim lessons to girls across Chicago—at the McCormick YMCA and community pools throughout the city. All fall, winter, and spring, swim lessons have been running across 11 pools. No cost to participants. Lessons, gear, and transportation all covered.

Nearly 700 youth took part in CYCF swim programs in 2025. According to Lurie Children’s Hospital, Black and Hispanic youth are half as likely to know how to swim as their White peers. That’s exactly why this work matters. Every kid deserves to be safe in the water!

The May Beacon is out! Here’s what’s inside.

Gale Force has joined CYCF’s fleet, a J/100 donated by Captain Dave’s Foundation and the third vessel the foundation has given to CYCF. We’re also launching our Sailor Packs fundraiser, raising money to put gear in the hands of every camper on day one: a swimsuit, water shoes, a hat, a quick-dry shirt, a towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses.

Lilliana G. is a parent of a Girls in the Game participant. Her words say it all. 💙 This past winter and spring, CYCF has been running swim lessons across 11 community pools throughout Chicago. No cost to participants: lessons, gear, and transportation all covered.
