Cats in Action

Cats in Action Helping people help outdoor cats Our Vision
Free-roaming feral and stray cats present community issues that warrant community-based solutions.

Our Mission
Cats in Action’s mission is to enable people to help free-roaming cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) by sharing best practices and providing comprehensive resources. Cats in Action envisions solutions where people in every demographic have access to the resources they need to help cats in their neighborhoods. In our vision, free-roaming cats live in harmony with people and are steri

lized, vaccinated, healthy and declining in numbers through proactive, ongoing TNR. We envision a world where one day kittens are no longer born on the streets.

Hi everyone!! UPDATE to yesterday's post about the starving, abandoned cats and kittens in the housing project... Officer Alvarado from came to our rescue this morning!!!! I'd left the residents enough food to keep all these kitties safe and with full bellies until help arrived. πŸΎπŸ’•πŸ––πŸ––πŸ––.

WE NEED YOUR HELP❗https://catsinaction.org/ways-to-give/
Today was a very rough rescue for me: I got a call from a concerned citizen at a housing project on the far southeast side about a bunch of cats abandoned in an empty apartment. When we all arrived and opened the door, the cats all flew out at us, frantic for food. They were jumping on us while we were trying to get the food placed... They appeared to not have eaten in days of not longer... It was really an awful scene. I counted 6 adults, 3 2-month-olds, 2 4-week-olds and two kittens that were obviously born this morning and did not appear to be alive. They were ice cold, but began to wiggle when I picked them up, so I tucked them in my bra, grabbed the 4 week olds, and called Animal Control who will be coming to get the rest. The cats at the apartment now have dry and wet food, fresh water and a litter box. The kittens I brought home needed critical care: fluids, bottle feeding, heating pads, nutritional supplements, and constant checking. We could take use your help. A gang of little ones, born outside on a concrete porch in a housing project on the far southeast side. One of the tenants called me desperate for help because all 5 of them had eyes that were crusted shut from eye discharge and they were running around the courtyard basically blind... But I ran around like a chicken and grabbed them all one by one.. and grabbed their friendly mother too! Safe and sound, fluffy, chubby and happy. πŸ’•πŸ©·πŸ’• We need your help, desperately. Sick kittens cost big πŸ’°πŸ’°πŸ’° and our phones are blowing up with pleas to chime get these little ones....

When two kittens from this outdoor litter went missing, we didn't wait. We scooped up the remaining four and trapped their mama before the streets could take any more. These little ones are now safe in a foster home, but there are hundreds more waiting for help. 🐾

Cats in Action is currently inundated with requests for help with outdoor cats, and we need help from you! Every donation matters. Help us save as many as possible this kitten season. Donate today: https://catsinaction.org/resources/workshops/ πŸ±πŸ’•

Consider becoming a monthly member! $10 or more a month earns you a Cats in Action mug and helps us stay in the field all kitten season and beyond. 🐾
