Cats in Action

Cats in Action Helping people help outdoor cats Our Vision
Free-roaming feral and stray cats present community issues that warrant community-based solutions.

Our Mission
Cats in Action’s mission is to enable people to help free-roaming cats through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) by sharing best practices and providing comprehensive resources. Cats in Action envisions solutions where people in every demographic have access to the resources they need to help cats in their neighborhoods. In our vision, free-roaming cats live in harmony with people and are sterilized, vaccinated, healthy and declining in numbers through proactive, ongoing TNR. We envision a world where one day kittens are no longer born on the streets.

Yes, that's a kitten in a tree. 🌳🐱
No, you don't need a ladder to help. 🪜🚫

Our FREE online TNR Workshop is this Saturday, October 10th, and it's packed with ways to help outdoor cats:

🐾 TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return): stop future litters before they start
🐾 Cold weather prep: keep outdoor cats warmer as temps drop
🐾 Neighbor harmony: keep the peace between your neighbors and the colonies you care for

You don't have to be a rescuer. You just have to be curious and ready to help. 💛

🐾 We didn't know this mama cat had kittens... until one turned up stuck in a tree.

Cats in Action is racing to reunite a family of kittens scattered across a Pullman neighborhood. A neighbor climbed a ladder to rescue one from a tree (meet Curry, safe and healthy!). Another, Jesse, was found trapped in a garage, very sick and hungry. He's now getting fluids and medication and is expected to recover.

The good news? A third kitten has just been caught, and neighbors think two more may be nearby. Their mom, Rain, was already TNR'd by our team, we just didn't know she had a litter out there.

Our goal now: find every last kitten and reunite this little family. 🏡❤️

Can you help us bring them all home?

Stories are better when they’re shared. 🐾🎤

Cats in Action’s Storytelling returns for its second year on Tuesday, September 29, bringing another evening of true stories, big laughs, unexpected moments, and tales that stick with you long after the night is over.

Storytelling is simple: no slides, no presentations, just talented people taking the stage to share real stories with humor, heart, and their own unique perspective.

Anne Beall, Colleen McLuckie, and Rachna Prasad return this year, joined by three new storytellers and an entirely new collection of stories. Some will feature cats and animals, while others will take us in completely different directions. You won’t know exactly where the evening is going until the next story begins. 😸

Last year’s event sold out, and we’re excited to fill the room again for year two!
