Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative

Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative The Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative (WBCI) aims to increase breast cancer awareness and prevention!!

The WBCI is a volunteer led, working board with a mission to provide grant funds that support breast cancer services across remote Wyoming; with an ultimate intent to increase survival rate and decrease late-stage diagnosis. WBCI has four priority giving areas, including education/prevention, early detection screening/diagnostic testing, patient navigation and patient/survivor support services. WB

CI has a proven ability to impact these four priority areas through Early Detection Voucher Grants and Community Grants. Early Detection Voucher Grants are awarded to the local Department of Health, Wyoming Cancer Resource Services to distribute as needed for breast cancer screenings, diagnostic testing and/or biopsies. WBCI Early Detection Vouchers are available for those in need, without any restrictions based on income, gender or age. Community Grants are awarded to Wyoming organizations providing vital breast health services through a competitive grant review process. As of 2021, WBCI has awarded over HALF-A-MILLION dollars through 75 Community Grants and 28 Early Detection Voucher Grants. Services have been provided to over 5,000 Wyoming residents. WBCI has funded: 3,881 Clinical Breast Exams; 659 Screening Mammograms; 251 Diagnostic Tests; 3,154 Patient Navigation Services and 337 Breast Boutique Services. WBCI is able to provide these vital, life saving services by raising funds throughout the year. Opportunities to join WBCI in the fight against breast cancer include: sponsorships, participating in events, donating, hosting an event in WBCI’s honor and fundraising through Facebook. One Day. All of Wyoming.

Your donation stays in Wyoming. WBCI is proud to serve the entire state. In 2025, we supported breast cancer screening in 21 counties. We also funded over 15 programs that benefit survivors and early detection.

Your donation impacts Wyoming as a whole. You make it possible for us to support every corner and town in the State.

We are so excited to support programs such as these to remove barriers to preventative health and all other health care!! 💞

We want to thank Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative () for awarding us $2,500 to cover the visits for patients to come in for a breast cancer screening and referral for a mammogram if it's indicated. Our work is not possible without the funder's support in our state. Did you know that these folks also partner with the Wyoming Cancer Resource Services that assists us in covering cervical cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer screenings.

This past Saturday was a busy one for WBCI!

In the morning, Ava attended Cheyenne Pride. Though she comes out a little burned, it was a success in making sure the community has breast cancer resources. She was fortunate enough to talk to former users of WBCI & WCP's screening vouchers, as well as engage with young adults who want to start taking preventative care seriously!

In the evening, Stacy was up in Casper to witness the Wyoming premier of the Outriding the Devil docudrama about one barrel racer's ride with breast cancer. Stacy was able to share WBCI's mission with a theater full of cancer survivors, thrivers, and supporters. The movie was inspiring with its strong emotional drive. WBCI is grateful to help sponsor movie screenings that showcase the intense and brave battle breast cancer fighters and survivors go through.

Thank you to everyone who supports WBCI and allows us to attend community events such as these to share resources and breast cancer education around the state. Your donations allow us to cover the costs of vendor spaces, printed materials, and gas so that we can be more present in physical spaces. We would adore your support for these continued efforts on July 15th for WyoGives!
