October 12th is Indigenous Peoples' Day in America. This day should honor the resilience and beauty of Indigenous tribes and peoples in America while also taking definitive action to better the lives of Indigenous peoples in our communities.

Today we want to highlight American Indian Cancer Foundation, who hosts Indigenous Pink in October. The initiative this year is survivorship, screening, and support. The foundation wants to educate Indigenous women and female-bodied individuals about breast cancer and encourage early prevention tactics.

We encourage you to read and learn about this resource and remember that Wyoming has a lot of Indigenous neighbors who could use your support. WBCI is proud and happy to offer our resources and support to the Indigenous people of our state!

A gift to WBCI can make double the impact this week!

From October 12-16, Ivinson Memorial Hospital will match gifts to WBCI up to $2,500.

WBCI helps provide a safety net for Wyoming residents who face barriers to breast cancer screening and diagnostic care while providing fundamental breast health education.

This October, we’re focusing on giving answers. 💗

When Annie*, a 39-year-old mother of three from Northwest Wyoming, felt a lump during her monthly self-exam, her heart sank. While her insurance covered her routine screening, high deductibles meant she couldn't afford the required follow-up ultrasound and biopsy.

At 39, she was too young for traditional assistance programs, leaving her with an impossible choice: pay the mortgage or get the diagnostic tests.

No mother should have to gamble her health against her family’s financial survival.

Through WBCI’s Early Screening Financial Assistance Program and our partnership with the Wyoming Cancer Program, navigators enrolled Annie right away, covering the full cost of her care.

✨ After an anxious wait, she got the best answer possible: benign.
