40 students were trained, tested & graduated into new CT hunters yesterday thanks to the efforts of some dedicated Connecticut Waterfowl Association members!
And thanks to the use of fantastic facilities at Guilford Sportsmans Association!

01/02/2026

Yesterday, CWA was in attendance at the annual Dave Bicknell clays shoot at Guilford Sportsmen’s Association. Aside from s***t, trap, and five stand fundraising shooting, attendees received Hot Chocolate provided by CWA along with breakfast sandwiches, coffee, venison stew, and clam chowder. Proceeds from the event were directed to the Nutmeg Clay Crushers kids clay shooting team, the CCDL, and the Friends of Connecticut Sportsmen. Mark your calendars for New Year’s Day 2027 for the next event.

A great time for a great cause!!!

CWA’s first Duck Pin Bowling fundraiser was a success! 20 lanes of bowlers filled Highland Bowl in Cheshire today, with all proceeds raised going towards the CWA “Tom Marshall Memorial” Scholarship, which has been expanded this year to include students pursuing a career in the trades as well as traditional college study. More than just duck hunting, CWA encourages, supports, and engages families and youth in the importance of conservation here in Connecticut. If you’re ready to take the next step to support Connecticut’s environment, visit our website and become a Contributing Member today.

Want more public hunting land in Connecticut? Want to help the next generation of conservation-minded youth? Then come DuckPin bowling with us! CWA is hosting our first DuckPin bowling fundraising event at Highland Bowl in Cheshire, Connecticut’s best DuckPin bowling lanes. $200 includes two hours of bowling and shoe rental for six bowlers, one of their home made pizzas, and a pitcher of soda. Additional food available for purchase and is delivered to your lane by a robot. All proceeds raised will be directed equally towards the CWA Scholarship fund and the purchase of new public WMA hunting land in Connecticut (we can’t tell you where yet, but it is in the works!).
