Flat Old Baldy and president Kinsel presented Bill Holdsworth with his 30-year pin at the Memorial Day event at Montgomery Cemetery by the Hancock tomb. Bill had a career in music sales and attended over 500 concerts in his life. He served two terms as Vice-President of the OB. His hobbies include freshwater fishing for smallmouth bass and visiting historical battlefields, including World War II sites in the Pacific. In 2015, he traveled to Iwo Jima with Steve Wright. Bill and his wife Debbie have represented OB CWRT, placing a wreath at the tomb of General Winfield Scott Hancock in Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown for over 30 years. They have three sons and reside in Collegeville, PA. You can read more about Bill in his member profile published in the August 2021 newsletter.

Flat Old Baldy attended a Saint Cloud Rox game at Joe Faber Field. The ballpark opened in 1998 and hosts St. Cloud State University baseball team games. The Rox are in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league. The team was known as the River Bats before the Rox, when the Dubuque Mud Puppies relocated to St. Cloud. The team is named “Rox” to honor the city's rich history as a major granite quarrying center—often called "Granite City". While roaming around Faber Field, FOB met up with Chisel. They enjoyed a fine summer evening watching the Rox.

Flat Old Baldy joined several members at the Memorial Day event at Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown for the OB wreath placement at the tomb of General Winfield Scott Hancock. Present were Bill and Debbie Holdsworth, past president Rich Jankowski, Jim Heenehan, President Calvin Kinsel, Walt Laft, Wayne Blattner, and Craig Bird. FOB thanked them all for coming out. The wreath placement was done by Calvin Kinsel and Billy Holdsworth. The wreath was made by Debbie Holdsworth. The round table’s connection to the tomb pre-dates its founding in 1977 and has become an annual tradition to visit on the Saturday before Memorial Day. Also buried at the Cemetery are Civil War Generals John F. Hartranft, Samuel K. Zook, and Adam Jacoby Slemmer, all from Norristown. FOB encourages members to plan to attend this event next May.

Flat Old Baldy visited and congratulated Harriet Monshaw on receiving her 5-year pin as a member of the Round Table. Harriet expressed pleasure in the variety of programs offered, the flexibility of the hybrid meetings, that the newsletter continues to be published, and OB CWRT's position in the Civil War community, both regionally and nationally. She told FOB she is impressed that the organization draws from folks across the nation. FOB thanked her for her support and invited her to an in-person meeting when they resume. She said she hopes to attend the picnic in September. Both said they are looking forward to summer adventures.

Flat Old Baldy met Bob Sparks at the Original Golden Eagle Diner in Bristol to present him with his 5-year pin. Bob came down from Newtown. He began his interest in the Civil War in fourth grade, learning about battles, strategies, the leaders, and firsthand accounts. He is also an avid birdwatcher. He is also a member of Bucks County and Delaware Valley CWRTs. FOB asked Bob for feedback on the round table. Bob said he enjoys reading the newsletter and likes to be able to tune into meetings when he is available. He told FOB that he is looking forward to the 50th anniversary next year. FOB told Bob to say hi to his wife, Vicky. You can learn more about Bob in his profile published in the November 2025 newsletter.

Flat Old Baldy attended a Willmar Stingers game on Baker Field at Bill Taunton Stadium. The stadium opened in 1979, and the Stingers have played there since 2010. The Stingers are in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league, and have played at Baker Field since 2010. Barry, a seven-foot-tall, mischievous bear, was roaming around the ballpark, cheering on the team. FOB caught up with him, and they chatted about the Stingers and the stadium. Willmar, MN, was established as a division point on the Great Northern Railroad. While in town, FOB visited the Kandiyohi County Museum to learn about the area.
