A.C.T. United.

(Anti Child Trafficking) United connects communities together in awareness, prayer and prevention, to end the s*xual exploitation and trafficking, of children and teens. United our mission is to "unite communities in awareness, prayer, and prevention to end the s*xual exploitation and trafficking of children and teens." Our prevention model equips professionals, educates communities, and empowers

youth to be this generations anti trafficking, cultural change leaders! Our YOUTH AWARE: Teen Exploitation Prevention program and Online S-A-F-E-T-Y class for all ages has reached over 15,000 students in dozens of schools, churches, and youth organizations. (Anti Child Trafficking) United began in June 2015 with Founder, Jessica Bartholomew. With over 25 years of experience working with children, teens, and families in youth outreach, domestic and foreign missions, a Police Officer in a large metro area, and child s*xual abuse survivor, Jessica brings firsthand information and experience to the work of ending youth s*xual exploitation and trafficking. Jessica served 12 years in law enforcement as a Patrol Officer and as an undercover Officer in human trafficking and narcotics investigations. Currently she is the Executive Director of A.C.T. Knowing what fuels a demand driven market for child s*xual exploitation and the vulnerabilities that put youth and communities at risk, we invite business, faith, communities, and youth together to end it in prevention! We hope you will reach out and join us on this mission as a financial partner, volunteer, or ambassador to bring our prevention programs to your school, church, and community.

(this was not submitted by ACT United btw, but we loved the Q!)

πŸ“ž Following the forum, candidate Jessica Heger, reached out to us, to learn about ACT United, our prevention work, and what we would like to see in Carver County.

Our Executive Director recently sat down with Candidate Heger.

βœ…οΈ ACT United:
- Our goal is to end exploitation crimes against children including trafficking and online s3xtortion in PREVENTION strategies.

- Our ask of the Sheriffs Department:
Begin collaborative engagement and partnership with ACT United and the Scott and Carver County Task Force in child exploitation crime PREVENTION.

Carver County is not exempt from online dangers impacting kids of all ages. Every family should be aware of the dangerous trends and every child and teen regardless of language & community should have equal access to prevention education and support resources when needed.

Why is nonprofit and law enforcement collaboration critical to crime prevention and community safety? Many reasons shared, that deserve their own post.

⭐️ Candidate Heger for Sheriff :
- Former Hopkins Police Officer and currently a Special Agent with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The top LE agency of MN
- Stated that partnering with community organizations and leaders is important for community health, safety, and crime prevention.
- Served on a multicultural advisory committee dedicated to hearing from all community members
- At Hopkins PD, built the first School Resource Officer program with 6 diverse schools
- Taught online safety and exploitation prevention to students.

✨️We appreciated the proactive call to learn more about our successful prevention strategies and ways we can unite and collaborate to reduce risks, reverse the upward s3xtortion crime trend, and devastating outcomes this has on youth, including su***de.

✨️ We're often asked by families and child safety advocates which LE agencies and nonprofits partner with us and the SW Task Force. Agency leadership plays a huge role in engagement. The relationships we have across MN is humbling, inspiring, multiplies prevention impact and we hope the list grows.

✨️If you live in Carver County, there are 5 candidates for Carver County Sheriff on the Aug 11th ballot. You can view the Carver County candidate forum on YouTube and see how all the candidates answered the question on child exploitation crime prevention and the other issues.
