The day is finally here. We get the keys to our new (and highly anticipated) office space. We will begin the move today May 29 from 11 am to 2 pm and4pm to 8 pm & repeat this tomorrow from 11 to 1pm. We need as many volunteers as we can get. We know is super last minute, but we are hoping some people have some free time today.
After all, working on crisis mode is our expertise 😅

Our partneship with Bountiful baskets has allowed us to feed over 150 families who are homebound. 🙏🙏

In the midst of uncertainty across our community, we want our neighbors to know that Bountiful Basket remains focused on one clear mission: providing food to those who need it. Our work is apolitical and grounded in care, dignity, and meeting basic needs.

As some families face new barriers to accessing food, we are responding in new ways and working alongside trusted community partners to ensure Carver County neighbors continue to have access to food, resources, and support. Our commitment to addressing food insecurity remains unwavering, and we will continue to show up for our community—today and in the days ahead.

“La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Carver no firmará un contrato con ICE para albergar a sus detenidos. Tras una revisión exhaustiva a principios de esta semana, determinamos que los requisitos de ICE superaban la capacidad de nuestras instalaciones. Su propuesta habría requerido más de la mitad del espacio de nuestra cárcel, excediendo nuestra capacidad diaria. Aceptar este contrato nos impediría satisfacer las necesidades del Condado de Carver. Nuestra prioridad sigue siendo garantizar la seguridad y servir a nuestra comunidad.”

The Carver County Sheriff’s Office will not be pursuing a contract with ICE to house their detainees. Following careful review earlier this week, we determined that ICE’s requirements were beyond what our facility can accommodate. Their proposal would have required more than half of our jail space, exceeding our daily capacity. Facilitating this contract would make it impossible to meet the needs of Carver County. Our priority remains maintaining safety and serving our community.
