University Soup Kitchen

University Soup Kitchen We are a Non-Profit organization dedicated to feeding low income families & homeless citizens in the Charlotte, & Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro areas.

The University Soup Kitchen has served thousands of meals since February 2014. Founded on the campus of UNC Chapel hill, we are a SMALL group of people who are passionate about ending homelessness. Over the past two years, through fundraising and community events we have served thousands of meals but there is so much more to come.

It is almost time for our 11th Annual 24 Hour U-Haul project! We appreciate the support our friends at for their support of our mission over the years! We need you to help us make this weekend another success, and help us fill the U-Haul with canned goods non perishables, Thanksgiving food items, baby supplies, hygiene products, clothes and much more! We also will have temperature controlled storage bags for the Turkeys and Hams we are collecting as well! See you and your family this Saturday with some donation items at UNCC CHHS Quad from 2-4pm with a FREE festival for all with community resources live entertainment and more! Then see you again next week as we get right back to redistributing these goods across the region!

Yesterday we had a group sign up and they didn’t show up, first time in over a decade.. but instead of chaos, the people we normally serve served with us! Normally we enjoy serving them, yesterday they became some of our best volunteers the year!! Thank you to the homeless friends we serve who made it possible yesterday! Thank you to everyone who helped us serve the last few weeks with our mobile pantry and community give aways.
