For Sofia, the most magical part of her wish wasn’t meeting princesses, it was reuniting with her family. 💙

After nearly eight months apart during leukemia treatment, Sofia’s wish gave her family the opportunity to be together again and celebrate how far she had come. As her mom shared, “There are no words.”

During months of leukemia treatment, Sawyer kept a poster of himself captaining Star of the Seas in his hospital room, reminding him of the wish waiting on the horizon. When that dream became reality, his family finally had the chance to exhale and celebrate how far he'd come.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. 💙

Last year, 154 wishes granted by Make-A-Wish Central & Western NC were for kids with a form of cancer.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we are sharing stories of wish kids with cancer and medical partners who play a critical role in making sure we reach every eligible wish kid. 🌟

Thanks to our amazing supporters, volunteers, donors, and partners, 361 local wish kids experienced the hope, strength, and joy that only a wish can bring this past year.

A wish changed Olivia's life. Now she's helping change lives across our community. 💙

After overcoming a heart condition, battling cancer, and facing more challenges than any children ever should, wish kid Olivia and her family made a commitment: give back to the organizations that stood beside them.

Today, that commitment lives on through the OliviaStrong Foundation, Inc.

We're grateful for their support of the 2026 Fairways of Hope golf tournament and the lasting difference they're making for local wish families.
