Today, Cambodian Legacy Project founders had the honor of attending the signing of the AANHPI Heritage Month proclamation at the Governor’s Mansion. It was powerful to stand in a room filled with Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander leaders, advocates, and community voices helping shape the future of North Carolina.
One of the most meaningful moments was witnessing Sendra Yang present Governor Stein with a traditional Hmong silver necklace, a beautiful symbol of culture, honor, and heritage. Moments like this matter because representation matters. Seeing our communities not only celebrated, but present in leadership, policy, and civic spaces reminds us that our stories belong here too.
We are proud to witness this movement in real time and proud to continue building spaces where culture, leadership, and community can thrive together.

This Memorial Day, the Cambodian Legacy Project honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

We are grateful for their courage, service, and dedication. May we continue to stand together as one community with respect, gratitude, and peace.

Grateful to share that Cambodian Legacy Project is participating in the Weaving Solidarity cohort through Southeast Immigrant Rights Network.
This experience is helping us deepen our understanding of coalition-building, immigrant advocacy, and how communities across different backgrounds can learn from and support one another.
As CLP’s representative in the cohort, I spent the weekend in Durham listening, learning, and reflecting on the importance of ensuring Southeast Asian voices and refugee stories are included in broader conversations around immigrant justice and community leadership.
Growth does not always happen in spaces that feel familiar, but it does happen when we are willing to show up.
Thank you to Avila Center for Community Leadership for the space for making this all happen.

What started as a vision in our hearts became real community impact in 2025.

From Khmer language classes and cultural dance to youth leadership, wellness programs, creative arts, and community partnerships, Cambodian Legacy Project is proud of what we built together in just one year.

Our 2025 Impact Report is more than numbers. It is proof that culture, community, and connection matter. Thank you for growing with us.

Our annual impact reports reflect the stories, milestones, and collective efforts that continue shaping Cambodian representation and preservation in Charlotte and beyond.

Yesterday, Cambodian Legacy Project (CLP) had the opportunity to participate in the AI Day of Service workshop hosted by Apparo and LPL Financial.

We learned how AI can help nonprofits save time and work more efficiently. One of the most helpful things we learned was how AI can assist with creating newsletters, organizing ideas, and improving communication. We also learned how tools like Canva and Google Calendar can connect with AI to make planning, scheduling, and content creation easier and faster for nonprofit organizations.

A special thank you to Apparo and the amazing LPL volunteer team for sharing your knowledge, guidance, and support with nonprofits in our community. We truly appreciate the opportunity to learn new technology and practical tools that can help us continue serving our community better. Thank you to Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a fun and meaningful Asian Dragon Boat Festival at Ramsey Creek Park last Sunday!

Cambodian Legacy Project was honored to join the event and represent the Cambodian community alongside many amazing cultures and organizations.

A special thank you to our Dragon Boat team and all the volunteers, supporters, and community members who came out to participate. We may not have won the race, but everyone had fun, built connections, and created unforgettable memories together. ❤️

We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate culture, unity, diversity, and community spirit together. Looking forward to next year! 🙏
